The closest one I’ve stayed in was the Krystal. They have to options you choose from and they are very close to the HZ.

Hello! Really liked the video, nicely done! I'm planning to go there in mid of July'24. I have a question - You spoke several time about Diamond club membership. It would be really helpful if you can elaborate like whats not included in Diamond club? Like, what can I expect if I don't purchase Diamond club membership? Is it like I'll not be allowed to any specific pool or parties or anything similar.. thanks in advance!

Hell thanks for watching. As far as I could tell I really didn’t see a huge difference but this is me on the outside looking in. Biggest things were the better alcohol options and the diamond pool and beach side. “Premium” liquor all taste the same after a few tequila shots. I have heard that the staff treats people with diamond better. Also having 24 hour access to the butler is pretty neat. If you go in without DC they will try to make you upgrade. So if you’re there more than a few 4-5 days can upgrade while you’re there. I’m 100% sure you’ll have a great time without having the DC. But I know the feeling of missing out. If you have plans outside the hotel like excursions or going to Playa, Cozumel, or Isla for a day you won’t enjoy the upgrade. Hope this helps a little bit. If I were to go back I don’t feel I need the Diamond Club to have a great time.

Honestly it’s really not that big of a difference. I don’t feel like I would have missed out on anything in particular. You can always upgrade when you’re there. Im not sure what the rooftop rules are now.

I totally agree with the humidity in the room! The towels feel damp and even the blankets and pillows felt a bit damp. I didn’t sleep too well

Honestly it’s all preference. We never used the hot tub and yes the view was great! But we were hardly ever in the room. We would explore the strip, we would be in the pool all day, and other days we would do excursions. If you plan to stay in the room for the most of your stay it would be a nice upgrade otherwise I would use the money for the upgrade and use it for something else.

@@lifeofbear9115 great thank you. I just haggled with riu and they ended up upgraded me to the suite for $200 less than the Jr. Suite. I will be there for 8 days and love private hot tubs. Thanks for the advice.

To be honest I didn’t use any. But I’m sure they are some around. There are a few banks in the area, I’m sure they’ll one. Also I know some of the resorts do have atm’s available.

How exciting!!! At the time I went the hotel did not provide transportation so we got a third party. So definitely do some research and have it scheduled before you arrive.

When I went I got my own transportation. I wasn’t aware of that option or maybe they weren’t providing it then. Wish i had a better answer for ya.

You can get your bank to get your an exchange or you can get pesos from an atm plus the atm fee.

Thanks so much for this review! I have stayed at a few Royalton Resorts *(Riviera Maya, St. Lucia and their other Boutique Hotel CHIC Punta Cana) and have had Nothing but, PLEASANT / GREAT experiences at each!! They have EXCELLENT SERIVCE -- I Will definitely have to add this one to my list. :-)

It’s a fun one. Every thing was an elevator ride away and if you get bored on site the hotel zone is only a 5 min walk away. I can’t wait to go back!!

Rius give on more of a resort feel to some of their properties. Chic is all in one building which is convenient. Everything is an elevator ride away. Got with your gut

If you are staying at a resort there will be an area selling packages. If your walking in the hotel zone you’ll see small stands selling packages too. If you’re on the beach there will be people walking around selling packages too. But do do your research there is some scammers out there.

From what I have seen most of the excursions are similar in price. I would check TripAdvisor.com for up to date reviews.

Hi, My husband and I are planning on going to Cancun in July, we are just looking for the RIGHT Resort. This resort seems small, compared to the other resorts we’ve frequent. How is the food? What time does the bar close. Did you go off the resort? Is there a dispensary? Thank you a lot

The resort does seem small in pictures and videos since it’s in a high rise but everything in it is spread out and doesn’t feel crammed. Once you get there you’ll see how truly big it is. Food was good. The specialty restaurant were really good. The buffet has plenty of options but depending on how long your staying it will get old. Room service is simple but decent. You’ll find alcohol all day. They spot serving at 2am I believe at the club. Not sure about dispensaries sorry. You’ll be a 10 min walk from the hotel zone which is great. I took a day trip to isla mujeres, I highly recommend that it’s so much fun. Vacation within a vacation.

Random knowledge drop - the Mayan Monkey in the opening shot is actually where Senor Frog's used to be. And even that one wasn't the first - the original Senor Frogs was way further up on the Hotel Zone almost across from Hotel Casa Maya, with Carlos N' Charlie's next door. Then Senor Frog's moved here, then down to where Dady Rock was (a smallish club next to Dady O), and finally across the street to its current location, which was previously - wait for it - a Carlos N' Charlie's. Yeah, I've been coming to Cancun for awhile...

I just looked up some of the spots up on google maps and went back as far as 2009 and saw all the changes. Crazy how every changes!!!
