It would be helpful to know more details about your grinding wheel. Was it an 8" grinding wheel? Because an 8" grinding wheel is not supposed to run at 3,450 rpms. If you do calculations, the speed on an 8" grinding wheel is exponentially higher. It's unfortunate that most grinders run at a default speed of 3,450 rpms. The 1,750 rpm motors need more windings to run smoothly, and cost more to manufacture, so they aren't as common.

I had a difficult time with my Rockwell Jawhorse. It looks simple in this video, but I could not get the jaw horse to release the work. Yes, I had it unlocked. Yes, I pushed on the pedal, it would not let go.

Went in a hardware shop about 15 years ago and seen a gearwrench set of sockets on sale for $20 aud. I like when I have a protruding bolt, i can use the grearwrench set and makes time for me. It was definitely the best $20 I ever spent in 53 years. Be buying this tap now die set today!

Just bought one of these 6538's never used like new with case for $43.72 at auction including fees and tax. Looks like someone bought it and tried it out and was too much for them. It is a bit heavier than my smaller Milwaukee sawzall. I also have a Dewalt corded and two Ryobi 18v reciprocating saws. A guy can never have too many toys [tools].

One key step to chafing the blade on this is releasing the tension switch. It’s the black lever next to the M12 symbol.

Got tip about keeping the shims with the bag. Another idea would be to measure the total shim size with a calliper so you can re make it if you need to.

I recently bought the five inch model. One thing I am very displeased with is that the fixed jaw does not protrude out far enough. You cannot clamp a log item that extends below the work bench surface. If I had noticed this before installation, I would have returned it.

Thanks. My dad just died, he left us all the tools. His buddy came over the other day and tried to buy this huge rethreading kit and I told him no, I might need that. Well, a month later, here I am today, definitely needing that lol and so glad dad left amazing tools for me. Thanks for this video, it taught me a lot. Time to go fix what I messed up now.
