@arielleallmon6921Күн бұрын
yes it’s this one. The vacuum happens as it mops but doesn’t do a good job. So I have programmed a vacuum session 1st thing in the morning and later in the day I have it set up to do a mopping section 3 days a week. The vacuuming is pretty good. It does get stuck on things even though it has the new feature of never getting stuck. I’m having to go get it off of a cord or a dog toy or a sock something. The mopping is basically spot treatment. It doesn’t mop very well at all so you make sure you do a deep clean and then use this during the week to kind of keep it from getting really dirty is a good use for this month. I have pets two dogs and three cats. The dogs go in and out of the house throughout the day tracking and mud at times so having the vacuum in the mop was an exciting feature, but like I said, if you do a deep clean and then use this to keep up with the house and only do a deep clean once a week then it’s a good vacuum mop system. I do like the vacuum feature. I think the mopping feature needs work. I also think the app needs a lot of work It’s very limited.

Can you find a vacuum that picks up when pulling backwards? The biggest problem I have is, I'll push the vacuum forward and it picks everything up, but if I pull it back on area that hasn't been cleaned yet, it pulls the larger debris and pet hair back with it, rather than vacuuming it up. It drives me bananas! I don't have this problem with my corded vacuum, but it's not always convenient to pull that out.
@vacuumnerds2 күн бұрын
We haven't tested for this. Interesting idea!
@MsBHavenn2 күн бұрын
@vacuumnerds well everything I look at says "that's just how it is" and it's aggravating. And I understand it's most likely to prevent anything being kicked back by the vacuum, but it's ridiculous how much I have to go back over things. I have 6 animals. So if I do this forwards and backwards motion several times, I've got a whole line of hair, and it's gonna get kicked up by me moving around it, which just puts it right back where I vacuumed. It becomes neverending.

One thing i learned about hepa filter vacs is that the hepa filter is an impractical selling point for cheap vacuums. For instance hoover sells a hepa vac for 88 dollars. Great you say but get to the point. Well for that price point the vac doesnt move enough air to actually be a good vacuum. So youve got a hepa filter, good for you but the vac doesnt work worth a darn. Wound up upgrading to a 200 dollar vac without a hepa filter and that thing was pulling stuff out of my carpet like ive never seen before. Imagine full canister in just one 8 by 10 room even after using the hoover with the hepa filter. So i think ill leave the air filtration to a dedicated machine i can run in the corner all the time.

People in comments are just butt hurt they spent so much money on shark stick vacuums when the “cheap” black and decker made it look like a chump. I actually have the black and decker myself and it’s actually a beast of a stick vacuum. Was on sale for $115 at time of purchase and already had extra batteries which made it a clear choice for me. Full size corded vacuums are always going to reach farther into the carpet fibers and get deep down dirt compared to a stick vacuums.

The Black + Decker is great for the money. It lacks a sealed canister, and you need to empty it often, but otherwise it's a great value!

I am about to buy a 600. I have had a central vac for 36 years and from day one it blows dust in my garage and when I went underhouse was shocked at the awful job they did. They "outed" it under the house and dust was all over the plastic and piping. This was a whirlpool. Sick of it. On the hair. I have bought 2 prevac tools. A silicone broom and a dream tool, a lint roller expanded to a floor hair picker upper. Got both on Amazon and that solved our hair issue. Oh, we have no pets! Too much trouble you say? Beats pulling all that hair out of the brushes. Service is my question on the 600. Who works on these.🦇

6:07 Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra was cited for being the most 'diffcult' for taking out tangled hair; don't agree. You can remove the black nipple (shown in 6:25) that holds the roller to the vacuum and further remove the inner red bracket that connects it to the roller, making it very easy to take out your wife's golden retriever hairs from that small space hair tangles up in.

One of the most unbiased comparisons I've seen. Excellent job, spot on and practically applicable, unlike other "lab" channels. I want to mention that I noticed you have the older Eufy S1 pro model, the newer hardware version has improved under-sensors and potentially edge cleaning, and the newer base has a re-designed airflow which significantly reduced the noise while improving dust bin cleaning. Also, I don't think that the access to video should be included in the scoring, since most security sensitive people see this as a big advantage to the Eufy and taking 5 whole points from the S1 pro in such a close scoring was not fair to that model. I know it was high on privacy but still that's 5 points off for a feature unrelated to a vacuum functionality in any way.

Appreciate your input. I think next time I’ll mention access to the camera and privacy as features, but not score them.

@vacuumnerds Regarding the mopping test with soya sauce, have you enabled "Automatic Re-mopping" for the case when a dirty area is detected and an automated re-mopping of that area is executed? At least for Roborock (I have Qrevo Curve), you have to enable this feature in the app first (Floor Cleaning Setting). Then you can expect that when a dirty area is detected, the robot will come back again to re-mop it first before another room/area is cleaned. Tested myself with my Qrevo Curve and it works very well 👍.

Wow, thanks for all the great real world testing of the vacuums (sand and sugar test). I was looking for a replacement for a vacuum at our church and I think the Shark Apex would work great up and down the stairs and under the pews. The ONLY thing I wish you guys would add to your list of items to look for is if you "can wash the filters". I don't what to have to keep buying filters if I've had a vacuum for more than 5 years and the search to find them. Personally, I haven't found any of the "powered brushes" to be worth a darn since they run on air and if you press too hard the brushes stop.

Dreame X40 > Qrevo Curv. Your ratings make no sense, both the x40 and the Qrevo Curv are equal in vacuum and mopping ability but the qrevo is significantly worse at obstacle avoidance. Roborock vaccums are so bad at obstacle avoidance that its hard to trust running them on a schedule without having to babysit or intervene. The Dreame with its far superior obstacle avoidance lets you run it on a schedule which results in a much cleaner living environment. This is coming from someone that has a Qrevo Slim and a Dreame X40. The slim is supposed to have the best obstacle avoidance out of all the Roborocks, yet it constantly eats cords and socks and seems to not even make an attempt to avoid obstacles that actually matter. Meanwhile my x40 runs intervention free basically 95% of the time and I can trust it to run at midnight and wake up to it sitting in its dock and my floors being clean.
@coreywalker20206 күн бұрын
Valid point but to some of us, obstacle avoidance is less important. I pick up my floors so it’s a moot point for my personal needs. I want the vacuum that cleans the best. Slim and curve beat Dreame in this regard.
@vacuumnerds6 күн бұрын
Appreciate your comment. This is our first pass at this format, and we'll work to improve the ratings for the next one. These are all very good robots.
@zoppp6216 күн бұрын
@@coreywalker2020 I disagree, that roborock is better at cleaning. They are about equal in cleaning with the Dreame X40 actually edging out better because it has a better algorithm to determine if needs to extend the side brush. Dreame extends it in any corner or location that it cannot normally reach while my Qrevo slim only extends in 90 degree corners and nothing outside of that. Ontop of that, the Roborock side brush design doesnt make full contact with the ground so it only cleans the very edge and misses everything else. When you are talking about $1000+ robot vacuums, obstacle avoidance is 100% an important thing because the value of these products comes with being able to run them without intervention.
@brianw59437 күн бұрын
While the qrevo curve seems like it has some nice features it is surprising that it keeps “winning” on multiple channels as it seems like it has a few short comings. Namely obstacle avoidance. At this price point it doesn’t seem acceptable to run over pet waste I’ve seen this happen over multiple tests. It is currently the most one of the most expensive vacuum robots and has arguably the worst obstacle avoidance out of any of the top robots. In real life that vacuum would be going in the trash after running over feces.
@vacuumnerds7 күн бұрын
Obstacle avoidance is just one factor out of the 20 we tested. Should we put more emphasis on this score next time?
@inoncohen59456 күн бұрын
@@vacuumnerdsI think so, at the end of the day my use of the robotic vacuum is to set it at designated times and let it make my home clean. If it runs over things, gets stuck and doesn't finish a cleaning job, it sucks..

Yeah I think it should have been weighted heavier especially in this price point. Like I said in my original post if that was real pet waste you are throwing away that expensive $1,600 vacuum. Still enjoy your videos/reviews bought my vacuum based on your previous videos/comparisons.
