how do you control IR cut filter? I did not know such system exist. which camera is it?
@tipoman916 күн бұрын
You can bind a switch of your remote to a script file on the cam. When you press it, the script is started. The cam itself is like a Linux PC with a video input - it can do what you wish.

I see the video frame is moving around underneath the OSD, does this mean the stabilization is happening on the camera processor?
@tipoman917 күн бұрын
Stabilization is done on the ground. OSD is also drawn on the ground, over the stabilized video. This is how it looks like when I draw the OSD on the cam and stabilize on the ground kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJrcgKGojbR5nLc

What kind of receiver antennae you use? Heli I see in the image

One LHCP 10 turn helical and two vertical polarization patch antennas, 11 and 14dBi. Vertical polarization antenna on the plane.

what amplifier for ar9271 do you use?

Congrats!. Could you pls give some details of the antena tracker?
@tipoman924 күн бұрын
No antenna tracker, the antennas are no high gain (12~15dBi), so they have rather wide beam width. I rotate them by hand. When the plane is far away, it can't quickly move away from a 20 degree beam.

What is your ur choose between IMX 335 and IMX 415 and why?
@tipoman9Ай бұрын
imx335 supports full sensor scan (2592 x 1944) scaled down to 1080p at 60fps, that gives much sharper image. Higher resolution of imx415 is in fact a drawback, since the cam can't handle full sensor scan at more than 40fps. And its binning mode is useless. For 720p at 120fps they are about equal

This is a known limitation of the Atheros stock driver, you'll need a small patch to allow higher bitrates in monitor mode. It is already included in OpenIPC, but seem you are using a different HW. Contact me on telegram OpenIPC group to explain

Nice! A vector graphically rendered attitude flight ladder! That means the rendering of the OSD elements is not done purely through text based graphics as with the Walksnail and DJI OSD systems. 👍
@tipoman92 ай бұрын
Glad you noticed 😀There is also the pitch angle text that rotates with the AHI. And center of the horizon line getting green when the plane is level 😉Icons are variable size, with more important being bigger. Home indicator on AHI (not working in this video). And stick position indicator on lower right...

@@tipoman9 Very nice. So is it rendered in post after the flight? Or can the firmware in the Walksnail or DJI goggles be upgraded to render it in real-time during the flight?
@tipoman92 ай бұрын
@@RCGuyVideos It's rendered realtime on the ground, based on the telemetry data transmitted by the plane. 😉 The video is a screen recording with somewhat reduced quality compared to what I actually see on the laptop screen
@RCGuyVideos2 ай бұрын
@@tipoman9 Excellent work! I recall the weird looking AHI of the Walksnail and DJI was what made me discover that their OSD rendering technique is all character-based graphics! They just use specialized detailed glyphs for some of the finer OSD elements. I was shocked they took such a rudimentary approach to graphics rendering in modern times. I could guess they took this approach because of lack of computing power onboard the goggles. But rendering 2D graphics onto a 1920x1080 canvas isn't so compute intensive these days is it? Maybe then they just didn't want to spend the time/money on hiring a programmer that had experience with 2D graphics perhaps and rushed it out the door with a cheesy character-based OSD. Now we need Walksnail and DJI incorporate it into their goggle's firmware since OpenIPC is open-source under the MIT license.
