I have a 2023 BYD Atto 3 long range and had a towbar fitted to it so I can tow the trailer which all the other 5 EVs that I have owned you couldn't tow with and the Atto 3 is the best by far for comfort and handling, I have owned and imported EVs for 7 years now and their is no going back to the old ICE vehicles now. It's not BYD to settle the issue : penetrate and dominate foreign countries, I'd think. It's always those countries who have final say i.e. let BYD in or not. They have established car industries and market. Obviously they don't want to lose it. Those car manufacturing companies (many hundreds of parts makers included) and their workers are against BYD acceptance, understandably. People are losers in this scenario because they can't buy BYD EVs. So it will be those industries and their workers vs people in general in those counties that settle the matter.

Korean manufacturers make the best ev at the same time mazda Toyota subaru one only ev with problems. Here in Europe for example dacia 1 East company sell a lot of a cheap ev the spring. Same Chinese if its affordable will be the end for them. Crisis cheap affordable companies will win. Nobody can buy 200000e ev.

That is their knee-jerk reaction. This video was made pre-CEO change and their EV strategy shift. Their initial EV projections were low, obviously they have re-evaluated it this year, and are now making bold claims of significantly chasing Tesla numbers. Hence, knee-jerk reaction.

BYDs vertical integration certainly have them well positioned to bump them right up the rankings as far as Global auto manufacturers go, and well Toyota is in a tailspin, but with the new CEO appointment and a great deal of public goodwill, so i think they will get a couple of shots at a course correction, but they will really need to knock it out of the park with their offering to stay afloat in the New Energy Vehicle space imo. If they fail, they fail. I dont think they could be the only legacy auto maker that disappears in this next generation just as Oldsmobile, Pontiac, and Plymouth did.

BYD philosophy works well because they change their models like a normal car brand. They are affordable compared against other EV brands. Tesla is a upmarket brand that doesn't change their design. The bloody model S had been around for 10 years with no design changes. They kept it this way to maintain profits. It worked when they had no competition. But the market has changed and BYD and KIA are leading the charge
