BMW K100 RT, Cafe Racer Project, the transformation part II

Hello Deano, I bought this seat unit from Cafe4racer, they are an EU based business so for me in U.K the import tax was not great, but a very good site (be careful I was like a kid in s candy store there) for all the bling and more. Just enter your type of BMW, then select what you want to get overly tempted by, in your case seats. I have finished my project now, although I have drive issues, clutch I believe. Once sorted I will be back to KZbin to add some nice photos and video. Thanks, other Deano

You may ( or Not) be interested in what I did 5 years ago with the K100 16v. Unfortunately I never filmed that project (it was my first, and pre any KZbin stuff) Turned out o.k, but took way too much time making the seat unit and front headlight fairing out of solid foam and then putting GRP over it. You live, You learn ! This will be a slower project too, too much DIY at home I can't escape from. Will get paint done in summer temps though. Get all the cleaning stuff sorted through winter. Then put it all back together for early 2023 launch. Should be something special by then. Thanks for your support.....stay tuned, but don't leave the telly on.... !

Very good question, that was a long time ago. As you can see, I bought it 18 months ago, when I first got the bike. I will have to check the paperwork. Definitely came from a European supplier. I will update you later. Good news, I started mine for the first time in 18 months, today, great to hear it through my new exhaust.

Not digging that seat unit .not meaning to offend but the initial statement on the seat unit .I would say applies to this seat .rest of the bike looks mint

I personally did not want to go down the typical Cafe racer style, been done too many times, and not all look right to me. What do all you other think, let me know your comments too.

I'd say that's the 80s route you've went there. I've just picked up a k100 with a ridiculous seat fitted .I'd say if you fitted a more refined seat or even made your own it would look so much better

Check out Cafe4Racer.eu, problem here is once you get into their site you can spend some serious cash. I will get most of my work complete, then go back for goodies later. Have fun checking out their catalogue.....

That was my first project. Was not done quite right, but then I couldn't buy what I wanted for it back then, so made most from forming myself with foam and GRP, wasn't too bad considering it was my first ever real project.
