I wish there were more artists like you! You just have a certain rock vibe that I love😅

This video just started auto playing. Dont have to try too hard to get me to listen to this album again 😂 The Place Where He Inserted the Blade is one of the greatest songs ever created in my opinion. The last 3 songs on this album are such a swell of energy. Ill just be sitting there sweating, bursting with emotion and energy.

Last flowers honestly is easily good enough to fit in any of their albums (tho maybe not tkol and kid a coz of stylistic mismatching), such an underrated song, if it went up against lucky or electioneering, or maybe even karma imo it coulda won (i love sha so not included here)

Still 20 years on, these first two Interpol albums are a special genius, never repeated. I would like to thank Dr Gordon MacLeod for introducing me to this band back in 2001.

This song is so beautiful! The way all of the instrumentals flow together with the melody of your voice is so perfect! Probably my favorite song in the album!

I agree with you about the lack of "width" in the newer albums. Specifically the last 3 went with a generally more "refined" and "produced" sound where there isn't as much big rock sound. Villains as an over all album is my least favorite of the latest 3 because of this and I think they improved a bit with Times New Roman since it definitely brings back some Era Vulgaris vibes.

For snow gloves mainly, what are you actually talking about? You sound incredibly close minded and not ok with something different, you didn't even give a real criticism other than the drums (which are great)

34:50 Mark's Theme was written by the band's sax player (lewis evans) as a tribute to his uncle Mark who passed due to COVID in 2021. the quaint, mumbly signing at the end of the track is a snippet of Mark himself and its a very moving one for me. Overtime it's easily became one of my favourites from the record

TDH - Like Crazy obviously i dont think you copied it on purpose but its basically the same thing for the verses lol. i do that all the time, where i forget i heard a song and then copy it by accident
@evorymuseumАй бұрын
sounds like something youd hear on drones sort of? its very muse but not in the traditional muse way. obviously the TDH influence too, that shines a lot here. that chorus is so powerful, and also has the exact chords to mustard gas i think (or very similar). im hearing a lot of act 3, especially the title track. stellar song, just like the rest on the ep
@evorymuseumАй бұрын
sounds like something from OKNOTOK disc 2. super pretty change of pace from the last song :) also the middle part when strings come in really REALLY reminds me of what it means to be alone from tdh, plus a little bit of saved
@evorymuseumАй бұрын
the switchup at 2:25 is heavenly. this whole song is insane. as someone else said, just hypnotic.
@NightwalkRealАй бұрын
There are so many parts in this one that compete to be my favorite - but that’s definitely up there :) I loved trying to piece together all these disparate elements
@evorymuseumАй бұрын
you were NOT kidding when you said this sounds like tdh oh my god i love it im hearing a ton of their classic tropes in this, alongside some direct references? is that opening guitar inspired by "Girl"? the part at 0:50 is also just incredible, definitely something casey would write. 3:58 also gives me huge tdh vibes, akin to something like mustard gas maybe?
@NightwalkRealАй бұрын
I was thinking more of the moon / awake for the ending. But I’m so happy to be in the same conversation as them. The chorus is a bit of the tank chorus, and the verses a bit of dear ms leading. But as you said, there are so many little influences :)
