While this is well produced, I am alarmed they did not give ANY credit to the original composer, BACH. This is Bach's music! This song is Bach's Prelude in CM orchestrated. All the chord progressions are 1:1 ripp offs. Nothing from Muse or ZEDD... no: it is MR. J.S.BACH, with some Ave Maria stuff mixed in. It is indeed in a public domain, one can legally use classical pieces without need for a license, but - sorry - just to orchestrate someone's else's music doesn't make you its composer! I lost respect for ZEDD. Why don't you come up with something authentic if you refuse to give the credit to the composer?!

5:41 And I believe that they sound similar because they were both inspired by Jeff Buckley Yeah if HAARP is when they were live at Wembley Stadium, their performances for Butterflies and Hurricanes and Apocalypse Please were AMAZING, and I'm sure there were more.

One of the best debut albums of all time, it's up there with Nirvana's Nevermind. I think Kurt would have loved this band.

This video just started auto playing. Dont have to try too hard to get me to listen to this album again 😂 The Place Where He Inserted the Blade is one of the greatest songs ever created in my opinion. The last 3 songs on this album are such a swell of energy. Ill just be sitting there sweating, bursting with emotion and energy.

Last flowers honestly is easily good enough to fit in any of their albums (tho maybe not tkol and kid a coz of stylistic mismatching), such an underrated song, if it went up against lucky or electioneering, or maybe even karma imo it coulda won (i love sha so not included here)

@@NightwalkReal I always listened to Muse, but I never listened intently to each album like I am now, so I guess my opinions are 6 years late hahaha. But I guess I agree with almost everything you said (especially how you can't respect anyone who doesn't like Pressure), I was surprised that you mentioned so many of the same things I said at first listen. Keep it up, I've really been enjoying your songs and covers!

Still 20 years on, these first two Interpol albums are a special genius, never repeated. I would like to thank Dr Gordon MacLeod for introducing me to this band back in 2001.

I agree with you about the lack of "width" in the newer albums. Specifically the last 3 went with a generally more "refined" and "produced" sound where there isn't as much big rock sound. Villains as an over all album is my least favorite of the latest 3 because of this and I think they improved a bit with Times New Roman since it definitely brings back some Era Vulgaris vibes.

For snow gloves mainly, what are you actually talking about? You sound incredibly close minded and not ok with something different, you didn't even give a real criticism other than the drums (which are great)

34:50 Mark's Theme was written by the band's sax player (lewis evans) as a tribute to his uncle Mark who passed due to COVID in 2021. the quaint, mumbly signing at the end of the track is a snippet of Mark himself and its a very moving one for me. Overtime it's easily became one of my favourites from the record
