I love it. And I’m hearing little parts that come from Josh’s other band Eagles of Death Metal. I’m wondering if Jesse Hughes is on any of the tracks. Jesse was the first to mention in passing that a new QOTSA album was coming, so it’s possible.

@@locustboy8448 kinda true the Way has to be a specific mood. Un-reborn has that cool line about everyone drowning in the fountain of youth. Just felt the saxophone was a tad underwhelming

Very catchy, loud and crunchy guitars followed by a beautiful chorus. I thought their last album was a little weak. This gives me hope for a return to form! Super pumped that I won’t have to wait for 6 months to find out.

Imo My God is the sun is still the strongest first single release aside from No one knows. Maybe I had TOO high of expectations? I'm getting Era Vulgaris vibes though and that's super cool.

It didn't blow me away at first, but it's quickly growing on me. It feels like a marriage between Era Vulgaris and ...Like Clockwork. The artwork for the album seem to confirm that vibe. Villains didn't blow me away, but, I'm getting increasingly more excited for Times News Roman... that's a great name for an album btw

Sounds like a cross between "Smooth Sailing", a slow version of "Don't Speak (I Came To Make a Bang!)" from Eagles of Death Metal and some Tame Impala song. Pretty cool, but I have to confess, I would expect this to be 2nd or 3rd song of the album, not the 9th song. Can't wait for the rest!

It's cool. Bass is FANTASTIC. Chorus vocals are brilliant and singalong-worthy. Drums are BORING and mechanical sounding, like Villains. The choppy/staggered verses are interesting but will grate on me. It's not a killer single imo. Hoping for some good, more 'steady' tracks on the album.
@NightwalkReal Жыл бұрын
I agree a bit on the drums, I was hoping when everything cut away in the bridge and we only heard drums we’d at least hear some fill but he just kept chugging along.

Watch the video. If you’re familiar with all the drama Josh has gone through in the past few years with his ex wife, it really hits different. Once I saw the visuals with the music video, with the lyrics being shown, I realized how brilliant this song is. And I wasn’t really a fan of Villains

Solid track but it sounds ... weird. I've compared it on Spotify with other QotSA tracks and the new song sounds completely muddy in comparison. Like the midrange is compressed or something. I can't really put it in words. Well, the preview for the other songs sounds fantastic.

Reminds me of something that could be on their first 4. The songwriting is that good. Dont hear the EV comparison at all. That record was a real low point in their career. Still can't sit through the whole thing. This record is going to be a late period masterpiece/return to form. Stoked for it. First 3 and LC are their masterpieces.
