Fabulous. Saw them in 78 at the New Regent in Brighton supporting Siouxie and the Banshees.

I was able to see the " BUDGIE " at the majestic theater in San Antonio back in the day. Was removed by the police for some reason but just bought another ticket and went back in with my long hair , handkerchief around my head " HI " as the sky , back in the day .

Probably on a New Sounds radio program in the 80's or later that I first heard this but I bought Bush of Ghosts when it came out on reading a review in Stereo Review. That was the web then.

They did this on Midnight Special. Eric at the end of the song was lying on his back with the band standing around him and they were cooking!

My amateurish attempt at translating this poem: Since we* communed with their love, We have held our tongue, held our tongue and burned as a soulmate Held our tongu... Many times we endured the fires of sorrow Many times we endured the fires of sorrow Once more we got burned by the fires of sorrow ...endured the sorrow Once more we got burned by the fires of sorrow, burned by the fires of sorr... For years we endured the fires of sorrow Once the fire of their love kindled in us In a moment, burned both this world and the next* For years we endured the fires of sorrow His love, my heart His love, my heart *The poem is written in "Royal we" style, so every pronoun should be perceived as singular. For example "we" means "I" or "their" means "his/her". *Polysemy, "burned both this world and the next" = "we lost both this world and the next".

Also the original poem was written by Shams Mashriqi.
