One of the biggest tips is learn its pattern (i though it was random at first and it seems to let you ge close after the hands attack. Also switch to 2d to avoid the laser attack in the last phase (it never even reaches me)

Ah,switching between a damaging shot and Thunder Strike to stop Dr Wily from using his 4-orbs attack...I used this tactic when I suddenly figured that the Thunder Strike will force Wily to skip the 4-orbs attack,though I didn't had confidence with my pressing off the L and R buttons quickly,so I always press the Start button to switch from the Mega Buster to Thunder Strike to hit Wily with it...But if Wily is too high to get hit?I'll just let myself get hit,until I slowly finds out the skill to slide away from under Wily,then jumping over the 4 orbs...Great minds think alike,it seems
