Thanks Larry for brining it, really usefull. Quick question, can you leave it running in the background, minimized while you work on something else? I mean, asign a task to it, minimize the windows and do something else while Operators finishes it.

Thanks for the great video! I am wondering if it is possible to upload more extensive instructions to Operator - for example a 50 page manual? If so, I'd like to try it out for working with specific software.
@parttimelarry14 сағат бұрын
A few thoughts. First, from what I recall there is a character limit on the task box. There is a file attachment you can use too though, which I haven't explored much yet. From my experience so far, I think it would be better to break the instructions down and format / number them to make the instructions as clear as possible. I think an interesting approach might be to feed your manual to an LLM / RAG system to break it down and ask an LLM it to transform the manual into a set of numbered instructions - sort of asking an LLM to clean up the manual or rewrite it for clarity first. And when they make an API available, then if you were limited by characters, you could possibly chain multiple runs of the Operator together to do something really complicated. I think it is not reliable enough yet to do something requiring a 50 page manual without a lot of guidance, but who knows where it will be on official release - things are moving fast.
@DarjaSelucká13 сағат бұрын
@@parttimelarry Thank you for the detailed response! Breaking the manual into smaller, numbered sections sounds like a practical approach. I'll try to experiment 🙂

Great to see you back Larry - in the meantime i have been discovering how useful Grok is on the X platform that is now free. Unlike copilot with the the 1k character limit, i have not encountered a limit with Grok, pasting in a rows of data, dropping in screenshots, and outlining the objective for it to write some python code - seems to be and expert in many areas, whether setting things up in uv, writing sql either to run in python or postgras functions, expertise spans many areas and i find it very useful.

Awesome, I had paid for X to try this out, been meaning to do more with it, but there are so many things being released. I like how they have incorporated the inline features to tell me more about people and individual posts / threads. There is also a radar feature that I was interested in for what is trending. Lemme know if you find any other interesting use cars that are specific to grok

@seansixsixsix2 күн бұрын
@ but that might get even worse. Some sites have extensive anti-scraping techniques, surely you know what i am talking about. behind paywall or captcha compare to them is like a walk in the park. Not only security checks, based on your video, but you also need to pass many inputs by human judgements in various stages of the workflow. It would be hard for me to visualize an api could automate to pass all those security checks and deliberate man-made hurdles. I am over thinking. lets wait for the api.

Love to see confirmation that you can tell it to stop notifying you on certain things. yes, i mentioned this and often do this myself, but I still think it's cool that this enables less technical people to be able to describe a process in plain language and automate it. there are also some trickier niche sites and web scraping tasks where an alternate approach could make life easier. My first example is somewhat easy, but in the official demos it is clear they are aiming much higher with having it do purchases and more complex actions
