If you want to play a sentient sword that can possess people in Pathfinder, check out the Armorist class from Spheres of Power. They have an archetype that allows them to do this.

7:29 You could keep track of money in days of food / shelter. Then, define how much gold it takes to live every day, and that could be a conversion of days to gold. Harsh weather conditions, drought, and famine could make days more expensive(for simplicity sake, survival in harsh conditions is some multiple of the regular cost). Travel over long distances, thus requiring lodging, would also be some multiple of regular day-costs. In isolated places, you could use deception to say your gold is more valuable than it is, for 'economic reasons. Royalty did a good job this year'. All to say, just using 'days' as currency makes lots of sense.

I created a game called Oracle of Hipnos, a round robin coop story game. This was before I discovered solo rpgs. The rules are quite simple: 1. The players decide the genre and the feel of the story that will be told, so everyone is on the same page. 2. The first player put the deck on the table (called Oracle), and draws the first card, putting it on the side. This is called Vision, and is background of the story. He start the tale, and after laying the background, he then pulls 2 more cards, selects one to continue the narrative, putting it below the Vision card, and continues introducing characters and a start, leaving a hook for other player to continue. This is the Chapters of the Storyline. Then he discards the other card to the side of the Oracle face-up, starting a pile called the Graveyard. 3. The another player then pulls up 2 cards, either 2 from the Oracle, or 1 from the Oracle and 1 from the Graveyard. He selects one to continue and put to the side of the first card of the Storyline. After he finishes (leaving a hook), he discards the other card on the Graveyard. 3. The other players do the same, always keeping coherence and leaving hooks, until the story reaches a climax and a close. The players then give their opinion on it, and create an alternate ending if the wish so. Well, I have the pdf but it is in brazilian portuguese. It's incredible how great of a prompt Tarot cards can be!

So first a little (I hope) constructive criticism, since you asked for feedback: This needs a bit more editing. I found myself taken out of it a little when you broke down and explained what every single roll was and the results. Those kinds of things can definitely go on the screen or just be announced after the roll, with all the addition cut out of the narration. It also wouldn't hurt to script some of the dialogue, or at least do a couple of takes rather than doing everything on the fly (though I know it can be a delicate balance between that and the authenticity of presenting the game as it happens). Now for the fun stuff: This is fantastic and I like how your setting comes through really strongly even with just a little description. This kind of storytelling content is some of my absolute favorite stuff in the hobby community and not nearly enough people are doing it. I really hope you keep this story going and continue to develop your techniques and the channel. As someone who plays the occasional pretty in-depth solo game, this reminds me a lot of my own solo games, but presented in a compelling way with nice visuals and those classic Kevin MacLeod tracks that bring it nicely to life. I can't wait to see what happens to these three and what Linnea really had in mind with those mushrooms.

Thank you for the feedback! I really appreciate it! I've started to balance out the improv with some more scripted scenes as the videos go on. The dice roller I use doesn't always play nice with obs and a few of my viewers listen to my videos rather than watching so I tend to be a bit overly descriptive of dice rolls 😂 thank you for that insight! And I'm glad you like the style of storytelling I use! Less is more in my opinion!
@Stratplayer05
@Stratplayer05 8 ай бұрын
@@TheTabletopSolo Yeah, I can see how that's a delicate balance, and of course storytelling style is the most important part. Maybe you can post rolls and their full descriptions in the description so people who do 'em as podcasts can look after watching to read the full stuff? Whatever works for you is best for you of course, but that might be one way to streamline it a little.
