Ironsworn is my favorite system. I like the combat system, I don't have to check a bestiary for monster stat, I just assign dificulty and let the dice dictate the battle. And progress bar is intuitive tool that even Mythic GME 2e adopts it. My only gripe is the only progress bar that matter to your advancement is the vow bar. It discourage me to take higher difficulty travel as it doesn't reward me anything (battle also don't have reward but, well, it's the climax of the session so I don't mind). All of them had been revised and improved on Starforged, and I've heard that Tomkins are working on the 2nd edition of the vanilla Ironsworn. But overall, I love the system. I've done 2 season of AP and will come back to it in the near future.

Starforged fixes a lot of what I didn't like about the original ironsworn as well! I love that it offers so many ways to progress.

Happy to dive into the backlog, Herm! I have downloaded the Ironsworn pdf, but haven't played yet, i just prefer physical books. I guess I'll have to invest in a copy

Thank you! Apologies for the lack of uploads recently, life has been happening! And in regards to the physical ironsworn books, I have them all! So I am a bit biased when I say it's definitely worth the investment!

The only thing I hate about iron sworn is the travel mechanic. The way the dice are balanced in the game lean more towards getting misses than anything which becomes very frustrating while traveling from location to location. In the end I ended up tossing that mechanic out the window.

The great thing about solo play, in my opinion, is that you can pick and choose whatever mechanics you like. Personally, I like the sort of "overcoming hardship" vibe Ironsworn has. But good on ya for finding a way to make it more enjoyable!
