Yes, congratulations on three years. I believe that with clams, you can tie the bags to the line and the bump will not affect you as much, because they hold on a lot longer to clams. With chicken necks, using snoods will lessen the bump of the bait going over the line catching more bigger crabs, that I think would normally drop off. Please continue putting out excellent videos.

Works great I just gotta do the math on what I can run with it and for how long that’s the more important thing makes no sense if I can run something I need and it won’t last running I need about 8 hours of use all I’m running is a a small fridge a tv and a portable ac or heater in the winter as a truck driver these are necessities

Zipper bags are great but too costly if doing it commercially for most guys. Get that price down and see how many switch to zipper

Kayak trot lining is easy if you know what your doing,it just takes a little longer and you can’t do it in the strong wind or strong tides,I almost lost my 600ft of line messing with both my buckets and waded through 4ft for a second to find them both attached,got 38 today,and fought the wind in the morning,a couple almost 7in and I was out for 6hrs

Are razors the best bait? Over fish scrapes, chicken necks, etc? Are the margins that good? Effort v. profit? Do you sell to restaurants? Or stands? Thanks Jake love the channel.

@TrotliningАй бұрын
@ChelseaCaban ended up selling that 1 and run the completed house on 2 1500 Watters and a generator (hybrid house) genny for the big stuff (hot water heater, ac/ stove, air frier) I really like those optimate panels they are all in one. (Works w this hybrid model I use)

Hi ya Jake, Happy 4th of July. I know we complain about the camera angle a lot, but your 1st and 2nd camera angles were great for viewers. It's a lot better to view the crabs coming up with the 1st camera angle. I pray you have a great season. I love watching and eating crabs. God bless ya.🦀🦀🌴Watching from New Orleans.
@juliemanarin4127Ай бұрын
Do you think if you run it fast the crab might drop off early and deeper?
@Trotlining28 күн бұрын
The theory is they'll chase it and grab it again right before you dip em as since they are so preoccupied w chasing they'll not realize they are being drawn to the surface. I personally like to run slow/medium some swear by only running fast, lot of other factors also depend on how fast you run, sometimes you have to because of wind/tide or you simply won't be able to keep that line in the middle of that roller.

Slow start 😢 but still not bad. Are sooks females...im assuming they are...and do they not sell as well as males?

I feel like crabbing has been pretty tough for me so far this summer. Always very windy and haven’t been able to really find them. Most I’ve managed in a morning is a half basket

I only use chicken necks and I am seeing the same thing. Last year end of June and 4th of July were the best crabs I’ve ever caught and this year they seem to be running the same big crabs just not as many as last year

I live near Charleston, SC and I’m building my own trotline thanks to your videos. I grew up in Northern VA so I was aware of trot lining for crabs. Thanks for your great videos. In the beginning of your video you were talking about importance of depth. What approximate depth should I be setting at?
@TrotliningАй бұрын
I do not believe location would change my 1st approach to scouting a new area, crabs a crab right? Anyway, I would try 6'-10' 1st.
