Hi Nigel, many years ago me and my friend were sitting in an abandoned house and if I remember rightly you walked in expecting no one to be there so we gave you a bit of a freight you were recording a video of the abandoned house. By any chance do you still have the footage? Would love to see it if you do as I’m sure we came out in the footage. The house was right next to the crossing of Whitehall road and hern road.

@@Crowdreactions- I still have all those videos but I think that video didn't get recorded. It was an unusual video set-up, the recorder was separate from the camera, in my rucksack. Unfortunately the switch got knocked off as I climbed over the wooden entrance gate. I went back straight after and recorded another video successfully, but I think you'd gone by then. I will look at the video again to check though. Were you also at an event called Bus Stop just down from Goldsmiths? I made a video of the band playing, I remember one of you 3 guys from the abandoned house being there watching the band. You might be in that video. And yes you did surprise me when I walked into that outbuilding!

00:14 No, the Ross Revenge was not "off Essex" at that time, she was at the South Falls Head, off Kent if anything (equally "off Dunkirk" in France). Maybe if the News staff had paid more attention to research than assumptions (and hairstyles...)? BTW: I just now asked the AI-Chatbot _Bing-Copilot_ , who/which similarly got it wrong. It said the ship had moved from its original location (Knock Deep) off Essex to the South Falls Head, a virtually mid-channel anchorage off the coast of Kent (and equally off Dunkirk, France) just before the British Territorial Sea act came into force in 1987, making the original location no-longer "International Waters". Copilot then insisted the raid took place with the ship at the off-Essex location (which I knew to be false). I pointed out the logical inconsistency / extreme unlikelihood of that, and it/they "apologised" (whatever that means/implies). I'd like to think Copilot learnt from this exchange, but wouldn't assume logic applies in human design (of Copilot) either. Does illustrate how such (LLM-based) chat bots are currently lacking in joined-upness! (just like the News and societies (as comedically illustrated in Monty Python's "witch trial" sketch (in their "Holy Grail" movie).

Hi Nigel, what happened following this? Had a similar incident earlier this year, driver ran into the back of me. Trying to claim I stopped deliberately but like you, I was stopping because of road conditions in front. Curious if that idiot tried to legally challenge you?
@Nigel_Broatch5 ай бұрын
@@sabni8668 I didn't make a claim or report it. I repaired the damage myself. My van is 'ratted' so dents and scratches don't matter. He didn't contact me about it, he rode off straight away without even noting my number plate. Sorry about what happened to you. Presumably they were driving too close behind you, as many drivers do!

How much here you know that cars were completely slower? Hence why places like "Little Chef" and "Happy Eater" eventually passed and thus in turn service stations like "Welcome Break" and "Moto" went on to thrive.
@Nigel_Broatch Жыл бұрын
Cars didn't go any slower. Although there are more motorways now. Either Little Chef or Happy Eater had awful food and very uncomfortable seats (I only went to one of them once but can't remember which one). Motorway service stations were bad in the 1980s & 90s. Even the gambling machines (fruit machines) at those places wouldn't pay out if you won money. News would travel slower and eventually things would 'come to a head', probably get a dreadful report in a newspaper, then the business would collapse altogether. Then someone would start something much better to replace it (EG Welcome Break, Moto). Now we have social media, the businesses (shop, cafe, whatever it might be) have little chance of ripping people off, at least not for long, and get instant feedback from customers and can adjust what they do to suit. (That's my opinion, I might not be right!).
