Hi Derek thank you so much for watching my videos. The cabin has come a long way although I still doubt myself at the start of every new skill learning process. Off camera there's lots of research, and worrying followed by finally launching into a new task. I'm at a point in life where learning new things is really enjoyable and motivating. I get courage watching others do things on youtube so I hope to contribute back. Do you like DIY?

Hi! I have a whole selection of gas bottles and attachments 🙄 this is part of off grid life. So in the summer kitchen I have one for the oven that I also move when I want to use it for the bbq plancha, it is in the cupboard next to the oven. And I have a second one for the hot water which is under the sink. In the cabin I have two, one for the hot water and one for the gas fire (soon to be replaced with a wood stove. I try to always buy the same ones so that the connections are compatible but its not always possible. If you keep to the same model then you can move them around if one runs out of gas. Yes totally it could also work with a solid roof. I did think about it but it was not so affordable at the time of the build. It would mean less roof cleaning for sure. I also thought about adding fabric or bamboo to the underside of the roof. Hope you are feeling inspired and thank you for watching ❣️

@@katybuilds I think bamboo might work but only if placed above (so that it would absorb that heat from the sun). And yes, I am totally planning on building one myself soon! :D

Ah yes I think you'd need bug screens aircon and a ceiling fan. Hurray!!!!! I'm absolutely delighted with reaching 1000 subscribers. I have spent 1.5 years learning to film and edit alongside the cabin build and I felt like a failure and giving up youtube several times. I hope now I have gradually learned how to make better videos that I my small tribe will grow. I've had many early followers who have been incredibly kind and faithful and stuck with me through the less 'good' videos while I find my way.
