for brutal orchestra, it actually directly references 2 lisa the painful fangames. theres an item that references lisa the pointless, and a boss that references lisa the hopeful.

42:00 perhaps a strange comparison, but kirby's dream land 2's "cruelty" sorta reminded me of the intentfully malicious vibes the classic doom games sometimes give off (Romero's levels come to mind)

it's nice to hear a more fleshed out commentary on your thoughts on ultimate custom night! im sure it wasn't directed at me specifically but as one of those people telling you you were wrong and stupid and dumb about it, it's nice to hear a definitive "okay, here's my thought process, pros and cons, im sure there's an appeal but i just don't get it" and be effectively shut up; love everything you do mr. fruit and im glad to see a review stream again :)

I would completely understand if he decided to never play the Silent Hill 2 remake, but I really wish he did, the way they restructured the game and puzzles really made it feel like you weren't playing the same game again, and the combat was much more fleshed out, but the best thing they did was the changes to the story and characters, in the bigger picture everything stayed the same, but the way they tweaked a couple lines of dialogue to make them feel like real people instead of a kinda boring voice actor behind a low poly model made the dream like feel of the game much more intense, anyway, if he does ever play the game I think he would really enjoy it, and by that I mean all of it, instead of enduing the gameplay and puzzles to get to the cool cutscenes like in the original

I really enjoyed the Extreme Evolution: Drive to Divinity streams because of the story, actually! It has an extremely unconventional way of telling it but I really love how it approaches concept like gods and life and such. Like the title implies you're a sort of experiment who starts from nothing and whose goal is to ascend to godhood, but for me the meat of the story is told through what is a transformation and what stats they have and on a metaphysical level i really like the idea of "divinity" being a stat just like weight or style or how you'll get "trophy" transformations like Self or No that are essentially markers to show you're progressing towards godhood. The little blurbs for each endings are also really fun not necessarily because they expand ever so slightly on the world (it kinda implies this is a digital simulation that connects with the 'real' world made after Earth died) but because, while there is a true ending, all endings feel interesting within the context that this is an experiment and you don't know what will be the result, like how one ending is about your entity never ascending to godhood but instead being satisfied with gravitating around a god and living forever within its vicinity, essentially becoming a god by proxy. The fact that there is so little information about this game (your streams are pretty much the only extensive recordings of the game online lol) also plays with the cryptic nature of its story which is pretty funny

1:04:55 while I agree that's it's fairly structureless (and agree and disagree with some of the other assertions made), there _are_ challenges, which functionally serve as a ramping difficulty "mission mode" one would say. Those challenges, and then of course actually completing 50/50, is the "progression". It's not _solely_ a sandbox. If I remember correctly, doing these challenges actually provides, like, cutscenes? and then there's also some cutscenes and Lore that is sprinkled after deaths randomly. So yeah. Still an odd structure, but also remember it was a free game scott sort of shat out so idk.

comparing SA1 to super mario 64 is obviously not a fair comparison but comparing it to super mario sunshine is more unfair, I'd say. mario 64 came out in 96, SA1 came out in 98 and sunshine came out in 2002. It's chronologically closer to super mario 64

Never played Allies, but I've heard people say similar things about it: why is it considered the worst mainline game?
@scrubbybubkinz526426 күн бұрын
@@Poondaedalin it's focus on multiplayer made the level design suffer immensely. A lot of the stages where airy feeling and not concise or creatively themed. It felt a tad pandering with the characters, they where just their for the fanservice.
