Yewwwww buddy ! Keep it up my guy , don't lose the stoke! All the haters will keep on hating while you're living it up . Keep posting, love to see the progress . Most progress I've made has been accidental 😆 you accidentally make a sharp bottom turn and come up and hit the lip or accidentally take off and get barreled haha then it clicks and you can start doing it on purpose . Sick vid man , keep it up thanks for sharing .

Yew thanks for this video mate. Looks fun. Here’s a couple things I think would help you improve faster. What i noticed in the video is that sometimes you are slow to your feet and miss the chance to get to the top part of the face where you can gain speed. So repeatedly you kept getting stuck in the lower flat part of the wave and taken by the foam ball. In general you want to stay in the top 1/3 of the wave face as much as possible. A larger board will help you get to your feet faster and give you more time to get to this part of the wave. A larger board will also naturally float better, and plane faster, meaning you wont have to work as hard to pump, but will still be able to learn the movement. You need a board that is wider and longer. Look at designs such as Chilli Midstrength or middy.

@@LeeSurfs fair enough mate, you should think about it… dont have to go too long. Weight in kg divided by 2 gives a good litre range. It’s more wide and low rocker boards that are gonna help. Surfers shouldnt even be touching a performance shortboard outline until theyre well and truly adept in speed generation and top to bottom surfing, usually this is multiple years down the line of everyday surfing. Until then it WILL limit your progress… If you can’t rip on a bigger board you definitely cant do it on a full performance board… everything is easier and more forgiving on a good midlength shape that is sized appropriately. Check out the chilli Middy.

The single biggest mistake I think you are doing is this - trying to do micro turns without first learning to pump across the wave and develop speed. Learn to first get up - and then build speed across the wave - even if it is just a semi straight line - and THEN, once you have that down, only then do ONE small turn. It looks like you are wiggling at slow speed otherwise… Learn how to build speed first young fella…..

For a second I somehow thought you by some kind of misfortune found yourself at shipsterns on a less gnarly day, and my heart genuinely missed a beat. Make sure to wear a helmet when you surf any kind of reefbreak, though. I've been the idiot to get slammed by 13+ foot shorebreak and I absolutely regret not wearing a helmet for it. If I hadn't been in peak physical condition back then I'd probably have broken my neck. Heavy and unpredictable waves, shallow waters... recipe for desaster. Helmets save lives :) //awesome vid though! Keep it up!

@IIIAnchani
@IIIAnchani 29 күн бұрын
@@TheRealWordMomentsTry on the Simba Sentinel 2 and Gath Gedi. Take a friend with you to wiggle the helmet around with some force to make sure it doesn't slip weirdly (as every head is different, I can't simply say "this one will fit perfectly") but as far as me and my friends concern, those two seem to protect pretty well. You gotta try them on in person though, as fit and comfort are important. They won't really save your neck from breaking all by themselves, except giving additional padding so the maximum impact force is less overall, but they'll definitely stop you from getting your head split open on a reef. I personally also train my neck muscles for additional safety, as those are essentially your body's own dampeners when it comes to hitting the head, and as I also love to do high diving (as an amateur), it really helps on head first entries there, not getting my head jolted to a side, so I recon it's probably going to have some positive effects in other situations as well. Stay safe, enjoy longer!
