FIRST VIDEO ATTEMPTING TO SURF BARRELING WAVES! Beginner POV (I got slammed)

Just got my GoPro Bite mount and went for an afternoon surf... Little did i know, the waves were 4ft+ and barreling.
I am quite a beginner surfer and this is my first video, hope you enjoy!

I loved the vid bro, keep going at it! I’m no pro by any means but it kinda looked like you were paddling a bit on the shoulder for a wave, try getting at the peak and you’ll be able to catch much more on the shorty, we have to do more of the work rather than on long boards!

You probably need a longer board if you are a beginner, you can catch waves way easier and you get speed faster. Nice Video!

Yeah i understand that but i don't really wanna put any money into it, i don't really enjoy surfing longboards (i used to for about 3 years when i lived at Bondi...) I'd rather improve on a shortboard and i don't really find it hard getting and keeping speed on them + they are much more maneuverable and fun.

Forgot to add that the board in this video is around 40 litres and it's my dads old one. Though i just brought a 6'2 Lost -Little Wing

was barreling and first time out in 2 years! you don't look the best either but if i came across one of your videos i definitely wouldn't say something like that. Surfing is about fun, take a look at all the people hyping me up in many videos... i have gotten better but my gopro has been stolen, getting a new one and showing my progression soon! Don't hate man, we're all just here for a good time.
