IMHO this product is basically unusable. Even the daytime 4k video was of the poorest quality, the 58mp camera sounds good, but only when you can focus the lens. With todays digital and optics technology/quality there's no excuses bringing out products like this that are reminiscent to 2004. Thanks for your polite review. Greetings from Germany

Hi, in this video were you using the latest Hikmicro Alpex 4k scope? If you were what do you believe would be the maximum distance, using a very good quality IR torch, you could shoot a fox or wild dog at night? I am in Australia and I often shoot wild dogs at night out to 300 to 400 yards. Would this be achievable with the Alpex? Thanks 😊
@keithjones13Ай бұрын
Hi yes I use the new Alpex 4k and I can see foxes out to 6-700 yards with my set up, as for shooting them if you are already shooting foxes out to 400 yards you should have no problem shooting out further with the Alpex 4k it's a great scope and fantastic in low light hope this helps cheers 👍

Hi mate great vid and nice to see it up against some others. One question did you get the Oneleaf sent to you to review or did you buy? If you brought did you pay any duty to HMRC, VAT /import duty. I’m about to buy a 2nd hand alpex but still feel drawn to the 400 but not sure about any extra costs
@keithjones132 ай бұрын
Hi I was sent it to review and to be honest I didn't think it would be as good as it is for the price it's a very good scope for the money and if I was after another day night scope I would definitely buy the NV400 , I think there about £450 in our money 🤔 and I can't see you getting anything better for that price, my review was a honest review and I have not been paid by oneleaf to help them sell there products, if it wasn't any good I would tell you hope this helps you 👍

@@keithjones13 spot on mate thanks for the reply. Think now there running at £520 and that’s still pretty good. I’ve got a deal on a 2week old alpex for a bit more but thinking about the slight weight difference. I’ve had an ATN with the abl 100 and that was a heavy old lump. It did the job for the 2 years I used it, unfortunately their after sales is diabolical to be honest. Think I will have to go back to the thinking board before I decide. Many thanks Keith keep up the good vids.

You are using a 850nm illuminator... foxes in my area did the same until i bought the nightfox illuminator which allows you to switch between white, 850 and 940.... i leave it on 940 and they dont see it.
@Trinity10iloveyall2 ай бұрын
There is a study which alludes to wolves and dogs able to sense the heat of light. The radiation intensity of 850 is about 3 times 940.
@александрбова-з9г2 ай бұрын
Foxes and dogs easily see 940 nm.And i suspect,they see 1550 nm as well.

How come the foxes get used to the ir , and why so many? How does this happen that they’re seemingly trained to know that the ir means danger?
@keithjones132 ай бұрын
Hi Phil it's because someone has shot at them and mist with some form of red light in the past and to foxes the 850nm IR light is visible so they soon learn red light mean danger mate 👍
@Phil_McAvity2 ай бұрын
@@keithjones13 interesting thanks. I’m relatively new to the game and can’t afford thermal yet so I purchased the Pard ir scope originally to shoot rabbits with my 22LR but also recently purchased a 22-250 for foxes and I use the scope on both. I haven’t had any issues with foxes being scared of the ir YET and hope it doesn’t happen anytime soon lol 👍

Great video, do you use the muzzle velocity from the box for your ballistics calculator? Or did you invest in a chrono? Your 5cm bullet drop is similar to mine for that distance, I'm assuming you're using a 223.
@keithjones132 ай бұрын
Thanks Ronan , I home load my own bullets, I find them better than factory loads in my rifle , it's a .243 I use on the Foxes I find it has a bit more dropping power and gives you less runners, saying that I've had 2 run lately 🤦🤣🤣👍
