Oh thank you for carefully explaining. I don't do all the steps you do but for teaching method I understand why. For the Bonus question I got 31 gtt/min (rounded from 31.25): Step 1: 500ml/4hrs= 125ml/hr , Step2: 125ml/60min X 15 gtt= 31gtt/min (I convert my hours to minutes to skip a step then multiply that by the gtt to get my answer)

CROSS MULTIPLY & DIVIDE ✍🏼 125 mg 5 mL ⎯⎯⎯ ⎯⎯ 50 mg ? ⬅︎ ( 250 ) 5 mL × 50 mg = 250 250 ÷ 125 = 2 mL ➡︎ Dose given to patient is 2 mL
