50:1 Fuel and oil mix ratio which is 5 parts of fuel in a 5 litre container and 100mls of 2 stroke aka 2 cycle engine oil.

I just bought 220be for 40 bucks. Didnt want to spend $500 for new one as i am living in a rental property. Do u know where i can get the operation manual fir this one . I looked every where couldnt find one. 🥵.

These things start easy, choke , five pulls, throttle off a bit, brings revs back bit more while it warms

yes indeed and even the Toro,s with the Suzuki engines are a classic for sure in the USA (United States of America)

suzuki built them to motorbike standard to WORK HARD for many many years. lawnboy built them to LOOK FASHIONABLE and need throwing out within 18 months. -- DIMANTLE A LAWNBOY and be shocked at the FLIMSY CRAP CONROD & MAIN BEARINGS

Yep a good mower plus much better than those Briggs and Stratton one's with the plastic carburator aka carby.s they have on there now days.

Not sure really however they are not guzzlers like some motors like the Victa 500 twin cylinder etc.

What a beaut. Love to hand a 2 stroke rover like that.as soon as you started the mower I smiled. Never seen a stroke rover in this good of condition before. Guess they don’t make machines like this anymore.i might consider trying to find one like this

Nice unit. I have the same and it works well, even in thick turf. Serviced every 2 years and the mower shop guys agree its a beauty. Only recent problem is that the bracket came loose failing on the handlebar where it attachs to the unit. Still works though.

@@Patrick4959 Toro first used this engine (what they call the GTS120) starting in 1982 for the 1983 model year (model series 47PZ2), and only for '83 did the GTS120 have a points/condenser ignition. 1984 (47PD3) and later models had the common solid state (CDI) ignition.

I have the same mower I prefer 2 strokes and being a Suzuki is pretty good. Sad they don’t make 2 strokes anymore.

Any 2 stroke engine should be idled for 3-4 minutes before running at high speed.....no smoke is a good mix Ballance for all 2 stroke engines....

These thing are designed such that they need to be started at WOT in order for the choke butterfly to be closed... They dont have a bulb primer and oftn are basically impossible to start with the choke open. So they more or less have to run flat out from startup.

​@@schmoburger6086 No they don't, leave fuel on long enough to fill carby, full choke & five pulls of the cord, first cough pull back from choke, starts every time. Best thing is there cheap, not many people know how to start two strokes easy.

@@jimmydcricket5893 No you're wrong on this mower, I've had mine since new in 1990, no maintenance except air filter and blades, it starts the same as it did 34 years ago. Full throttle which is the choke position, obviously fuel turned on 3 pulls and it starts, there's no first cough and then back off the choke, my chainsaw and blower etc. are like that, but not this mower so i'm afraid if you did that, it will flood and then you have to wait around for a few minutes or pull the plug and get rid of the excess fuel.

@@Blade43 Tilt em forward for about 5 sec before trying usually that does the trick with my old rover 2 stroke and it then fires up on the first pull then with the choke on.

nope as long as good regular maintenance and of course regular servicing you can do yourself and she kicks over nicely for example the carby fuel lines fuel filter gaskets and even spark plugs and even pistons and cylinder cleaning and i can do that one all by myself

Easy the best push lawn mower I have ever owned & still going strong after owning it since the early 90's but my greenfield ride on is equally as good, both built tuff.

I have a stihl fs76 weed eater from 1994 and when stihl really built their equipment to last. I bought mine in March of 1994. It still works perfect today (7/2019) and hasn't lost any power in over 25 years.

Is there a ON switch? Instructions say hold 1,2 and 3 then release. Whats this step worth? I cant get mine to start and bought frm gumtree

Yes there is and its located on the top of the throttle trigger assembly which is located below the safety interlock and throttle trigger mechanism assembly

Brian Mott i do have a brushcutter blade made for the unit which is a 8 toothed blade and the one im using as a temporary usage atm is a Australian Made Victa cast alloy head

cheers Jon mate this whipper snipper as we call them here in Australia are beastly boss trimmers for some of our council operators and groundskeepers etc but due to increased rates you don.t see council operator doing much in the areas as much these days however it was very good back in the old days too and you would not know the year of this trimmer ?

techstyle123 yeah for some people in regards to the area they live in it depends on the manufacturing and shipping handling etc and they are also Chinese made but i have no problem handling them from my view and as long as it works im happy with it

well on this unit there is a switch on the Handle for the throttle trigger and its on top and there r 2 things that indicate I and O they mean for translation On and Off
