also after 2 years of not much use, and having it hanging up on my shed wall, i notice it leaks petrol slowly from the black rubber fuel grommit on top of the fuel tank where it sucks the fuel out of the tank. I have decided to store it horizontally for now on.

hahaha I have exactly the same timmer and i bought mine from bunnings on the 11/2008 and had exactly the same trouble starting it but didn't have to bring it back as I worked it out and now starts every 2nd or 3rd shot usually. I am currently in the process of finding the Victa Blade Edger (ATE2210) accessory. I might throw a vid up of that when i get it.

@Patrick4959 Ok yeah well i haven't had that problem yet. It's been stored vertically in the garage for 2.5 years and still starts really easily from cold (2nd or third pull.) I also fixed the gromit where it was leaking petrol today, by pulling the whole fuel line assembly out and refitting it. I don't think the gromit was sitting in properly the first time, hence why it wasn't sealing.

+Chrys Herbert no worries its a really good decent bit of quality trimmer unlike the Homelites that are Chinese made Crap POS(Pieces of Shit) today compared to the old days when they were made from the 1970s and so on

@Patrick4959 Ok what I have discovered since posting that is the pre-2009 models cannot fit any of the current attachments on them unless they have an adapter which apparently doesn't work so i had to buy another tornado plus whipper snipper $259 from bunnings inorder to use the edger $119 i bought at a victa dealer. Edger works great but as there has been a lot of rain in Melbourne Australia the ground was really muddy so it would clog up the guard hosing and stop spinning.

@rubdall sometimes its not a good idea not to leave petrol in the tank because it can clog the carby i heard

@Patrick49594 жыл бұрын
nope as long as good regular maintenance and of course regular servicing you can do yourself and she kicks over nicely for example the carby fuel lines fuel filter gaskets and even spark plugs and even pistons and cylinder cleaning and i can do that one all by myself
