I know this is going to stir up some shit and be viewed as a radioactive take but here we go anyway : the concept of "balance" that leads to a game's "meta" is an idea that fails in any media or manmade topic and needs to be completely disregarded in favor of creating lore accurate characters and letting the pieces of the puzzle fall on the board without some constant arbitrary numbers tuning when it comes to designing a video game. Any game. Balance will never fully happen, and it makes the game worse in every single case.

Even more important than story, Necali was just a mediocre character. The way they look or something they do will attract new players, personality and how they play will keep them around. If your character isn't fun to play or play against because of weakness or lack of unique strengths, they are essentially dead on arrival. Definitely would have been better as a non-playable boss like the dolls.

Gill's organization knew Necalli was coming back soon, and made a few minor, long-term manipulations that resulted in Gill becoming what he is today, including being their leader. The reason Necalli couldn't properly consume Gōki is that the Satsui no Hadō either is an aspect of his power or a competitor to it, and Gōki having delved so deep into it allows Gōki to maintain his Identity too-far into the process. (cf the similar situation with Rugal) What nobody involved realizes is that Necalli chafes in his situation and, while consuming the energies may be inescapable for him, he at least wants to chart his own destiny. Some combination of Gill/Rose/Ryū/Ken/Dhalsim/Charlie/maybe others (maybe even Gōki?) eventually realizes this and starts trying to help him do so, along with Bison/Vega probably trying to exploit him somehow. This could also lead to a splinter faction coalescing around Urien, who in turn might reach out to the dictator. The post-credits bonus, of course, would be a Gōki/Necalli rematch. X3

I think Capcom didn’t want to release Terry and Mai just yet. I think because of the S2 DLC leak a month or 2 ago they decided to put a few characters on hold. Reveal some of the ones mentioned (Elena/M.Bison) and expedite the guest characters they had lined up.

Its very disappointing that guest characters are taking up 50% of the lineup which is just completely nonsensical and a complete waste. The lineup just mostly feels very stale, bland, repetitive, and corporately forced. Completely tone deaf from what many fans wanted. There's still a bunch of popular SF characters that deserve to be in the game more especially over fucking boring overused Bison again. Nash has died completely for nothing now what a pathetic joke. I just feel like Capcom made mostly all of these character picks purely because of money alone. It just feels like a very scummy cheap move and doesn't really make sense to have these characters this early over clearly more deserving SF characters that fans wanted. Also only having 4 characters over a whole dam year is terrible for how much they are overpricing this shit. There needs to be more than 4 its a dam ripoff. The games director has completely lost touch what a joke of a season. Once again glad I didn't waste my money on this game because Crapcom is still alive and well.

I’m a big SNK fan myself so I’m quite good with it, but I think anyone who truly loves fighting games (not just Street Fighter) can appreciate this and what it means to finally have these longtime friends working together again. Myself and Jon are also probably extra okay with it too since Bison means a small increase in Rose probability lol
