Hi, You have taken the easy way, using the lighter method, I hard-wired mine front and back via the fuse board and the reversing light, it was only a cheap model but still gives a good reading. to any one who intends to fix a Dashcam, even after 2 years ago. Regards welshman 2081

Ok guys one aspect of charging locations that you missed is and who makes money from this and who finds it. The biggest issue is the available excess electricity at each location. When you apply to install equipment that consumes electricity, the local electrical infrastructure provider makes an assessment is there available excess capacity in the network or is the local substations etc at capacity. If the capacity is reached then to proceed the individual has to fund the Sb station etc upgrades. So rather than chargers going where needed, they are also impacted by the local network capacity..

but yo ran the cable over airbag. It is major safety hazard. The cables must go along side of A-pilar , never crossing the air bags

Great show, one of the issues/challenges that you could consider discussing that aligns with charger numbers and location is the different DC charge rates of differing cars. As the time spent at a charger is as dependent on the cars Maximum DC charge rate as well as the chargers rate of charge. One of the reasons I went for the MG4 was its 140KW DC charge rate, some competitors were only at 70KW charge rate and that will have an impact on the 20 to 80 % charge times and extend the plug in time at DC chargers.

This is the problem, chargers hidden away put in places where there are no services eg toilets, food & drink. The number of times I travel in the country where there is nothing else is crazy and the petrol stations are not in general putting them in which is nuts.

I've had my Model Y for 12 months now, and have driven it from Brisbane to Rockhampton 4 or 5 times since. The distance between the Tesla Superchargers at Gympie and Calliope is about 370km which is really pushing it for a RWD model, so I've had to either top up at Childers or Gin Gin. These Chargefox chargers are not only very slow (~40kW) but there's only ONE at each site. Just about every time I've stopped at these chargers there has been a car already charging, and someone waiting to charge. This is the issue like you've explained - we NEED more than just one fast DC charger at each site.
