small history believe it or not if want to this store in 2020 chirsmas it was doing fine also got big trucks in regulerly and stocked a lot more fully between jan 2021-2022 October all it did was slowly downsize, normaly trucks wear huge around charismas but instead nov/dec and into jan was all just cutting hours and downsizing now its the last kmart left and the one 2 to make it to 2024 and the only one to make to 2025 ( should be noted that from 2021 the start there wear still 50 kmarts left however since jan of 2021 every kmart left was put on sale so the sec anyone bought the lot they started to close that was cut just 6 with 2 in the process of closing in 2022 and one of two kmarts to entire 2024 and will be the only one to hit 2025

I believe one of the contributing factors to the demise of malls in America is due to the obesity epidemic. Corpulent people just don't have the energy to walk in these large establishments.

It's all the fault of the NBA. Had they ended their territorial draft one year earlier, the Knicks couldn't have used it to draft Bill Bradley, who would likely have been drafted by a far away team. Then,he likely would have become a Senator and could not have stopped sports betting in 1992.Had that not happened,AC would today be "The Garden Spot of the Western World.Plus,Trump would have remained in Atlantic City.

I’m from the area originally and lived 30 miles north. My parents would go gamble in the 80’s when I was a kid. I loved Ocean One mall! Finally something legal for me a kid to do! I was in AC this past summer while visiting family and AC as a whole looks terrible and has gone downhill.

It all is just a collapse of a huge artificial bubble. Companies tried to make a fortune out of super cheap products for the last 30 years. In times of AliExpress and other online shops people started to realize how inexpensive those products actually are. The house of cards has collapsed.

Spot on........The first wave of middlemen got taken out with the introduction of the internet. As all sorts of 'distributors' and resellers went away during the GFC. And this next correction will take out another huge swath of these companies. Little by little, more and more people will start dealing directly with people closer to the source (like AliExpress). And all of this will only speed up as more and more companies start to manufacture closer to the U.S..

It seems unlikely. It’s unfortunate because the ocean view made it the best part of the mall.

Time flies. I remember being there around 2009, and the mall was on and popping. The Apple store was packed. Seems like it was a month ago. Must be surreal AF to work at one of the handful of stores that are open in that mall........especially at night.

I was there in 09. It was jumping. I remember shopping at the Guess store and getting great deals. I remember chilling with a drink on the top floor. There had benches by the windows and the floors had sand. There were a few restaurants up top. That was a cool time to be in AC. It swelled before it collapsed.

Thanks for sharing this. This brings back so many memories. My parents were high rollers so I grew up at Tropicana/TropWorld/Tropicana. We used to stay in the Dynasty Penthouse on the 19th floor before the West Tower was built. Then once it was finished we stayed on 50. We stayed in all six. My favorites though were the Park Avenue, Marrakech, and Versailles. One of my favorite treats on 50 was the toiletries. I am curious if they still do what they used to do. While regular rooms get the basic soaps and shampoo as the ratings go up so do the perks. On 50 in each bathroom was a robin’s egg blue Tiffany bad filled with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, lotion, perfume and cologne all made by Tiffany. It smelled divine. Anyway thanks for sharing.

Wow, that is so weird. It is in the West Tower, whichever is the highest floor. Booking a suite was tough there, I couldn’t do it until I got there the day of, and asked if an upgrade was available on site and had to pay extra. I imagine it is easier the higher your Caesars Rewards status is…

@@brostocks thank u for answering me. 💓 I don't gamble at all. We come for the cheer comp & I was hoping to get something nicer than the 1 bedroom queen as it's my adult daughter & 2 teen granddaughters. (Only 1 of which competes). I don't stay in the block of rooms reserved by the team. I've asked several times for a nicer suite, after I saw some KZbin videos, I asked for specifics. I guess they are reserved for ppl who actually spend lots of money 💰. I will inquire upon arrival though. Thank u.

If they ever go out of business, wait until the pallet liquidation where they sell steel racks, display tables, and other store furniture. The racks are some of the best made in the world (welded steel or iron) and can be as cheap as $25.

Fast Eddie wanted Sears & Kmart for real estate. Forbes said Kmart had better chance at a turn around after reorganization but Kmarts seemed to be the first to go as it was Sears firewood but hey 2 Sears were re-opened in one in CA and another in WA. Maybe he will have to reopen more stores as no one wants to lease or buy them.
