Would not worry about longevity of the frame. Afterall its still steel (alloy) certainly going to last as long or longer than any polymer frame.

Whenever possible you want your laser site center line above the bore not below. If you think about the natural arch that a projectile makes one's fired a laser underneath the bore will only be zeroed at one exacting point. But if it's above the bore like your natural sites, if you sign in at a correct distance it will stay much closer to point of aim for a greater margin of travel. Making two points of intersection if sighted in correctly.

Just bought a box at DG. 10 bucks which is pricey compared to walmart thicker seasoned Patti's which I love but Im like you and like trying new things especially on new year's alone. They only had 2 boxes left so somebody's buying. I'll give my opinion tonight. Great video

We just bought one from 1991 USSR, new old stock, in Tbilisi they are only $7. Bought 1984 canteen for $7 also and a MPL-50 small infantry shovel for $15. All very good for the money..video to follow shortly.

It's just a Soviet one, but green paint and made in Hungary as they were a satellite country of the Eastern block. Our USSR one is brown-olive.

No offense but I’m a former POST Combat instructor and I disagree about mounting in the wrong position. The bore offset is roughly 1.25” - so if I zero the laser @ 25 yards at 50 yards the impact is only 1.25” left of the laser if the laser is mounted at 3 o’clock position on the hand guard. The laser is intended for pure CQB - anything within 4” out to 50 yards is fine for a center of mass shot. Even an ocular orbital shot is fine within 25 yards - laser is between the eyes & that’s the impact…laser is between the eyes at 50 yards and impact is in the subjects right eye…instant neutralization.
