I never realized how difficult a simple pov shot like this is to capture! Thanks for sharing!

Great hack on the diopter. If only someone could 3d print an adaptor.....
@MathieuSternАй бұрын
Yea !! Please send me the 3D printed adapter too !

That would be great!

That is actually very smart, POV views are incredibly hard to do. Especially when you want it to small and portable.

Yes, but how will you shoot the making of this video, and the making of that video...

This was a fantastic video! I love to shoot 'Through the Viewfinder' photography myself, and I am always on the lookout for a better rig. It was super helpful seeing your setup. Thanks for sharing!

Next step would be to film the waist level view finder in macro mode so you can turn your vintage photo camera into movie camera and create dreamy footage.

How about a periscopic viewfinder or a periscopic adapter to record images closer to the weist viewfinder? Have you tried it?
@SmeelioАй бұрын
Very cool! What's that viewfinder attachment device thing at 4:00 btw? Seems like it allows for waist level viewfinding on digital cameras, which seems really nice
@MathieuSternАй бұрын
I made a instagram reel about it, it's a Leica Visoflex

Le rig a l’air incroyable ! C’est sur que ça doit être plus léger que l’iPhone qui film en top shot

Can you tell us what closeup diopter you used? Thank you in advance!
@TrevellianАй бұрын
Your phone solution looks preferable to the Insta360. A bit heavier, but a *much* larger and brighter screen. Many phones can be 5 or 6 cm from their subject without need for a diopter. Perhaps yours cannot? Wouldn't use that type of phone holder. Try one of the magnetic phone holders like those from Peak Design. They are solid and easily re-positioned.

Great idea !

@@MathieuStern Try the magnify app instead of the camera app. Google and Apple each make one for their phones. The magnify on the newer Google Pixels can focus when extremely close to a subject and will stay focused.

Could you put the camera on some sort of beandband instead ? :)

Mathieu… not you too? I thought this company would’ve learned better after its last fiasco paying every KZbinr and influencer under the sun to review its product. At least they arent trying to break the law this time by asking people to keep the sponsorships off the record. If you have to pay people to talk about your product, maybe it’s not all that compelling…
@MathieuSternАй бұрын
But it’s not the same camera, they are pushing the ace pro 2 and this is an older camera
@perilthecatАй бұрын
@MathieuStern …so it’s a total coincidence that this video launched along with the flood of sponsored AcePro2 content that was released at the exact same time? So this isn’t a sponsored video? It’s illegal to not disclose sponsorships, that’s what got Insta360 in hot water last time.
@MathieuSternАй бұрын
@@perilthecat well it's bad timing I guess but they didn't pay me
@PeppermintGentlemanАй бұрын
@@perilthecatIt's pretty safe to assume they wouldn't waste their money paying for a mention of an older camera when they're in active promotion spend for a newer camera. As for his use of this camera, this is genuinely a good tool for what he's showing here. I've loved using it for recording sketchbooks very similarly to this. Not everyone on KZbin is doing the worst things. Some are just making cool stuff and sharing how they do it, like you have with this video.

For me, this a very questionable result for the effort involved. You are no where near to filling the frame with this setup. Perhaps a telephoto adapter instead of a close-up diopter would do it.
@MathieuStern24 күн бұрын
I don’t want to fill the frame, I want to get part of the camera and environment too
