I have always been of the mind that ankle carry is for your BUG(back up gun)while I have been on the job-we get a Glock 21 as our duty gun and we can choose any BUG we want.I carry a S&W340PD which only weighs 12 oz and I forget it’s there. Mitch Rosen Gunleather makes the best possible ankle rigs available anywhere.

I keep my reloads in a S&W 337 Airlite Ti. NY reload. It weighs 11 Oz. and my backup is accessible by both hands. My primary is a Taurus 856. My backup would be a 2nd 856 but because the Airlite is so much lighter than the Ultralite, the Airlite wins. I carry a speed strip as well. Another product to try is Zeta 6's K Clip. It loads as a speed loader but it's more front pocket friendly. Like if a speed loader and a moon clip had a baby.

I have a th40 and Taurus doesn't really have a good support system for the TH series of pistols. Should have night sights trigger upgrades etc

Well, I'will agreed with you but in other countries is quite different.... In some european countries the only type of ammo authorized for civilians is FMJ and the 9 mm advantages in this platform flew away.... high velocity 9 mm bullets don't give you the advantage of expansion and is preferible use 45 for a defensive use instead 9 mm version... Dumb laws, but are the laws.... 🙄 I don't love DAO, Striker Fire, or SA-DA triggers. My best scores ara always with SA triggers.... I don't love hight capacity magazines who give the pistols a badly grip for me.... 1911 platforms are perfect for my shooter experience and I was owned some guns of this type satisfactoryment. The Combat Commander is best option for 45 instead lightweight model. No enough difference with standard full lenght 1911... Regardas!

But there are some things exceptional and “divinely” crafted and inspired (by men who believed in themselves as mere mortals) that have etched itself and filled a role in history: the .1911 by John Browning 🪦☝🏻

Great job! It's not going to mean much to people under 50 years old, but then neither do revolvers unfortunately.

Is the model 82 better than the 856 3 inch? In your opiion

I think they do different things. I much prefer the 856 for a concealed carry gun but I think the 82 is overall easier to shoot.

I guess with the Judge I struggle to understand the concept. Obviously it is a compromise: it is not as good as a 45 Colt revolver and, face it, not as good as a shotgun. So, why would I buy it? I can see only one scenario: only if this is a single gun which I am going to have... Now, is it as good self defense weapon as a plastic gun? No. It is heavy, doesn't carry as many rounds, has a heavier trigger. Now, if I am to buy one and only one gun, in 95% of cases I am buying gun for self or home defence. So I will buy a plastic gun then. Who buys the Judge then? I will never buy it since I have better performing 45 Colt and shotgun. I do not need to combine the two in one single platform.

Looked at one the other day and was VERY impressed on its quality as Taurus has come a long way: now where their revolvers' quality rival their flagship firearm -> the PT92. Well done "piece" that Heritage / Taurus Roscoe, but it's missing an extra chamber for a total 6 freedom defense seeds...hence, the Rock Island M206 gets my vote for the ultimate retro snubby as 20% more for defense brings more piece-of-mind as it can use .38 Special +P (in a pinch).

@MrRevolver Right. But Rossi makes these Heritage guns in Brazil, then they import them. Its no different than ATI stamping their brand on all those Turkish shotguns or Century stamping their name on Romanian AKs.
@MrRevolver
@MrRevolver 18 күн бұрын
Rossi does not make these Heritage guns in Brazil. Taurus makes these Heritage guns in Brazil, which is why they’re stamped Taurus Armas on the left side of the frame. Taurus Holdings Inc is the parent company in the USA of Taurus USA, Rossi USA, and Heritage Mfg

I'm thrilled to have more poilshed blue finish options back in the revolver market. Here's hoping Heritage debuts a 4", 6-shot service-revolver lookalike with this finish sometime soon. Bonus points if it resembles a tapered barrel S&W Model 10 with that half moon front sight.

With the smaller CCP pistols (SIG 365, Spfld Hellcat, etc) pistols are much easier to conceal. Plus, better access sitting in a vehicle.👍

Speaking of crossdraw being unconcealable...mostly this is true, the cant of the grip/butt makes the rear of the gun project back (in this case - forward) rather aggressively and poke out your front. ..but.. I was given a stunning old leather holster made for a snubby Colt Cobra .38, the holster was designed ONLY for crossdraw, muzzle straight down...but here's the thing..you don't pull up and out to clear leather... Instead, the holster is double-skinned, shaped in a U-shape with spring steel between the skins, that grips the gun VERY tightly. The front is an open slit you could barely see the gun through - but on the draw, you broke down, forward and out. VERY FAST, but still very concealable because no angle, muzzle points straight down.

From the description: Yes I know the difference and I know why. Pre ignition flinch is a bad thing, it is anticipating the future recoil and moving the firearm before the bullet leaves the barrel, causing a miss. Post recoil drive, or post ignition recoil management as I like to call it, is controlling the movement of the gun upwards after the bullet has left the barrel, which is a good thing, it is needed to quickly get the gun back onto target for quick follow up shots.

I cross draw carry my S&W 686-6 7 shot revolver with a 2 1/2 inch barrel. I’ll wear a vest or a hoodie as the weather cools. But during the summer I just have my t-shirt untucked. I have only had one person notice I was carrying. And that was a fellow guy person.
