I know this video is old, but where does everyone get these wheels? I'm new to restoring this bikes and want to build a black one with ukais but can't seem to find them anywhere. Not even repop

UKAIs are very difficult to find. You will need to check BMXMuseum.com frequently to see if anyone is selling. Also check the GT Performer Facebook groups. There’s a handful of groups out there. Join as a member and you can ask to see if anyone’s selling.

I have a set of Haro Lineage wheels in chrome I may consider selling. They’ve never been ridden on. Practically brand new. They’re 48’s.

Back in the day my brother and I had either 83/84 Mongoose expert each. I would love to restore one. How frequent are these BMX shows in Fl. Im in Tampa. Seems like im buying my youth back lately. Any info on future shows? Thank you for the post. Take care, stay safe.

That’s awesome. I was just thinking that there needs to be more shows in FL. A lot of the big shows are in the Midwest and west coast. As of now, I’m not aware of any shows in FL in 2024. But sure we’ll see some pop up in 2025. I’ve been toying with the idea of hosting a Florida myself with a few sponsors but it’s just a thought at this point. I don’t we’ll see. Check back in to my channel. Who knows, maybe I’ll announce one on my channel in the future. 🤷♂️

@@bmxfreestylefanatic sounds good i subscribed. One last question i had a 84/ 85 Mongoose expert as a kid. How would i go about finding info and buy one to restore it back to OEM. I just bought back my 88 corvette convertible i bought in 96. Ownwer finally wanted to sell. I have lots of my childhood items still. Just missing my bike. I know it wont be the same bike, but a clone at this point, would put a smile on my face. My brother and I use to.race BMX at Lake Park in Tampa. We alao raced R/C cars there as well. We still have those. Any ideas where to.start? Im 51 now, but would still the tires off my 20 in , if i had the chance. Sorry for the rant. Man i would love to start another project. Love a great easter egg hunt. Thanks again for any info.

Really nice build and nice to see the breakdown of costs :) I'm glad I stored my original 88 PFT Team model. I restored it myself back in 2015, the original chrome needed very little work and polished up like new! The wheels have the [Rare] GT Superlace Coaster Hub which I replaced in 1990. OG survivor cranks I just polished up. I just purchased OG GT Freestyle bars as I had Haro Knee-savers on it. The 88 stem, not as nice as the mallet and a new seat which was the GT one form 89/90. I stupidly threw out the original barely used SR platform pedals back in the mid 90s along with a fairly thrashed Viscount seat & the OG tech 7s which from memory where smashed beyond repair. I now have the repop 88 decals on it now but in blue & white as I went with a sort of custom colour combo. The frame is stamped 87 but it was 88 spec'd when I purchased it new. I was offered 7k for it a few years back but declined as its very personal to me and not for sale.

Hard to say. They’re all special. But if I had to pick one, I’d say my custom white PFT with the chrome bars.

Hell yeah loving the white!!! Completely changes it! I think it shows up the parts more than the chrome! Love it! Also I subscribed on your last video the thermo yellow gt wow holy grail!!!! Keep it up brother I’m a gt fan through and through 🏴🙌🏻

The chrome was nice, but it was a little bit too chrome. I like the white more cause it just looks more old school. Very nice bike, you did a great job.

Im also hooked on the school of ‘white out’ with whatever dominant color. Im the one again with the nuke yellow and ‘white out’ so Im enjoying watching you have fun with this twice recently. I have other bikes with black but the PFTs setup with white is tops for me. Thanks for another remix video. How about a ride around one of these days? Soft scrub w oxy gets white tires back pretty easily😂

@@bmxfreestylefanatici ride mine around town and get stopped in the park with many oohs and ahhs. Im sure Ive shown up in somebodys Instagram by now. Im 50 and 6’2”. Its all good since we’re both on the slim side. Im not doing any major flatland performances but I do cruise the curves at a couple local skateparks. Air height….negative 1 foot😂 Wish all us PFT guys could teleport for a meetup one day. Im sure we’re scattered all over

Great job but I like the chrome and black better. White components to me I would run on the green, blue, pink or lavender frame and forks (like your others). Chrome with blue tires, grips, seat, also works

You can tell this guy was a poser back in the day just by how the levers are mounted straight out like that on the bars. Sloppy brake cable routing too.

Wow what a flashback,reminds me of when my pft was dayglo yellow years back. It was fun being the only 87 PFT at the time in dayglo yellow for a while. I love this 💚💚💚💚👌👀🔥

I still have my '87 GT Pro Performer that I built around it with GT items from '87 and '88, when I used to Freestyle ('83-'89). I do want to do a semi-restore, as I still have the original mushroom grips on the Haro bars, '87. It's also fitted with ACS RL Edge Rims, GT laid back seat post, GT seat, Tioga roller pegs, front and back. Frame and fork are stripped down, ready for paint, just don't know what GT color, as the original color was white, and serial number is still built from the huntington beach site. Rims do need a full rebuild. Also, I have 2 sets of mags, less axles, from my original build on a Vector, Skyway mags, white and Peregrine Mags in Radberry color.
