Very true, I didn’t think to mention other possible consulting roles out there, just focused on my journey for the day :) the best is really when you’re a self-employed consultant and have a portfolio of clients in place 🙌

Hey ! I don’t want to influence your decision in a negative way - my first few years were good and it definitely taught me a lot ! You can always quit if you don’t like something, but it could be a great experience for you :) I was hesitant posting this video specifically because I didn’t want to dissuade anyone from working at a Big 4. Everyone’s experience is different and there were a lot of pros for me as well - I think I just overstayed.
@youtubeuser-dy8nxАй бұрын
Agree with her, infact many of my friends were scared on lots of “what ifs” who dream to join this company. I told them same thing that you can always quit if it does not suit you, but not choosing to go with one of good opportunities is not an ideal decision since good opportunities do teach you in some or other way - it can range from social skills to technical skills. I do believe the target audience of this specific video topic is for those who already made it into big 4 (since these firms are picky as well) and learned the skills as compared to those who are about to start their career journey.

Hi Erina, Sometimes I find myself reflecting on the time spent with my colleagues, realising these moments may end up being some of the most memorable. In the future, we may not always be together and it’s surprising to think we often spend more time at work than with family (given the 8-10 hours we’re in the office). Just a passing thought. By the way, I wanted to say our conversations have genuinely been inspiring. I’ve also experienced the uncertainty of wondering what comes next - like at the end of my KPMG internship (you've been there in my that phase as well) - and now here I am, with another Big 4 haha. I know I’ll miss this team too, especially as I’ll likely leave next year for my post-graduation plans. I still miss my former colleagues at KPMG, especially the sense of synergy our team shared as a unit, which goes beyond individual connections. Do share your playlist of songs tho, I can't keep turning on shazam on all videos haha.

Hi ! Thanks so much for watching and sharing your experience ! It’s true a what you said - spending so much time with your coworkers we do end up forming bonds with people we work with :) I’ve enjoyed our discussions on the trials and tribulations of consulting as well haha Not knowing where to go especially as you’re about to graduate is one of the worst feelings for sure :( so much stress Haha glad you like the music - will share it going forward 😂

Heeeyy, it's good to see you again! ☺ I'm glad you had the strength and courage to make a big decision like that without seeing a clear & certain path in front of you, I agree with the thought that change is absolutely necessary sometimes to give room for something better to come! Especially when you're in a place that doesn't feel like _your_ place in life. Wishing you all the best & looking forward to your future videos! 🤗

Hi :) very glad to your message ! Thank you for not forgetting our chats from before haha And for your words of encouragement 🙏 it’s crazy that you mention one’s place in life - I often have to ask myself - am I living my life right now or someone else’s? I really appreciate your well wishes - I hope I can make videos you’ll enjoy in the future also and I’m looking forward to more things from you as well 🙌🙏

I see a lot of these videos from recent grad's titled 'day in my life of big 4 consulting', followed by 'I quite my 6-figure consulting job' 6-12 months later. Consulting is difficult, but the grass is not always greener. There is a reason why MBB and top firms receive 1million+ applications a year. I think most grad's who get a spot, don't really know what to expect, and also do not understand the opportunity they have in front of them. My advice: stick it out, it will set you up for life. Good luck.

Can anyone offer me some perspective or advice? I am not sure if my experience is the same as others. I work at one of the Big 4, have an MBA in International Finance with 5 years of accounting experience. My whole Big 4 experience has been an absolute nightmare. Let me explain. I was working as a level 2 accountant at a major corporation. Then a Big 4 company reached out to me and actively recruited me for a Financial Analyst position. I ended up accepting the offer because the Big 4 company recruiter actively pursued me for the financial analysis position, and I figured the Big 4 was a reputable company where I can learn new applicable financial analytic skills for my career growth. However, from day 1 of starting at the Big 4 company I realized that the opportunity was 100% misrepresented. Essentially, the engagement I was put on was processing invoices repetitively. This engagement was a very low skill engagement with call center vibes, and 100% not what was being presented to me or what I was agreed to. After six months of processing invoices, I reached out to an experienced manager and explained my experience and what had transpired. She agreed with me that my concern was valid, and this should not have happened to me. Therefore, they looked for a financial analysis engagement where I would be able to learn and apply financial analytics which is what I was recruited for initially. The new project that they presented was "Real Property Valuation" and was presented as an engagement that would require traveling to different location where I could apply financial valuation skills such NPV and IRR, so I agreed to this new engagement. However, when I start this new engagement, I soon realized that this engagement had the very same nature of the Invoice Processing engagement with no traveling or financial analysis being applied or learned for the activities. Personally, I have never felt so mislead and violated as an employee in my life, and I am not inspired to do the work. Every job I have ever had, the job description has been pretty spot-on except for this Big 4 company. Now I am in a very tough situation where I have sacrificed my prior career for a situation full of deception hoping and I feel they hope I don't notice or say anything. I was really hoping to get more out of my experience at the Big 4, but I simply don't think they have what they were recruiting me for. Is this a normal Big 4 experience? Has anyone else had the same experience? What should I do? Serve 1 year there hoping that I can transfer to a different part of the company or start making my exit strategy? Any suggestion or advice would be appreciated.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I have a few questions. What ages were you homeschooled? Why did your parents home school you in the first place? Why did you re-enter high school? You said you found it difficult to socialise when you returned to school - did you not have regular socialisation with children when you were home schooled? Eg home ed groups? Cousins? Friends? How many hours per week do you think you were able to spend socialising? I am likely to be homeschooling my 9 year old soon as he hates school. I think I can plan in 3 afternoons a week for him to be at social group/play/downtime with peers and am wondering if this is enough. Thank you for your thoughts. ❤

Privet :) Your "lack of shame" is actually very attractive hahaha 🥰😅 I was trying to remember another time when you were smiling and laughing in any video and I think this is the first time we saw it 😁😊 (referring back to _that_ popular video, it makes a lot of sense lol) There is so much interesting cultural stuff in this video, sometimes I had to replay parts to even perceive and comprehend everything I was seeing/hearing. Like at 1:20 I just realized that _hat_ is шапка (shapka) in Russian and it's the exact same word in Hungarian also! (Written as 'sapka' but with very similar pronunciation as in ''shapka'), probably a loanword from Slavic languages. (Nice hat btw, very good with your hair :D) I loved your mom's input and explanations, she's so cute being shy from filming but contributing anyway because that's what her sweet daughter wants. 🤗 "In no other city does the glow of stars beguile as much as it does in the city of your childhood" - that quote was so touching for me, as I'm also living far away from the area where I grew up, but every time I visit that place, it certainly has a special feeling when I'm looking at the stars there... I love looking at the night sky always and everywhere, but in that particular place it's like remembering the awe I felt the first time when I found the Polaris or when my dad showed me how to find the Big Dipper while sitting at the campfire with my family. ☺Also it's a quote that has a wider validity than its literal meaning. I'd be grateful if you could share where you read it. :) Thanks for sharing this cool and funny video, keep them coming!

Privet :)! Haha thank you 💖 Yes, all my other ones are a bit more serious, here I wanted to show more of my daily life, and I generally like to joke around, so smiling and laughing ensued haha Super interesting about the sapka, I love the little cultural points, appreciate you catching that and sharing (could be a borrow from a Slavic language indeed, I'm now curious about the etymology of it haha) 🤗 ! Thank you for the sapka compliment, I do love the hat, I noticed it matches the hair also haha, good eye 😊✨ Yes, my mom is a cutie :') Its the first time I film with anyone, and the energy just worked out together haha My mom and I have compatible personalities, so that could be a part of it :) I'm glad that quote resonated with you, it really moves me too. It's nice you get a chance to visit your childhood place and get to feel those emotions again, those are really precious memories that make life worth living and infuse magic into the daily routine :) As for the quote...I saw it on an IG post, but since you asked, I did a little digging and in fact it was an abbreviation from the original (Soviet time movie - Carnival (1981 film)): Нигде и никогда, ни в одном городе мира, ты уж мне поверь, это правда, звёзды не светят так ярко и пленительно, как в городе детства. Translated to: Nowhere and never, in any city in the world, believe me, it’s true, do the stars shine as brightly and beguiling as in the city of one's childhood. I have not watched this movie, but I just might, for this quote haha It does have wider validity, I'd be curious to know what are some interpretations you think of? Also, thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to watch, and connect with the content, its really amazing to know that all the way across the world there is a kindered spirit enjoying and finding funny parts of my days, its like we're on an adventure together haha It matters more than I can express 💝✨🌟
