I will start my first job in a big 4 next month, I've been reading lots of negative things about big 4. It's getting me so nervous, I hope it's gonna be okay
@erinafenix Жыл бұрын
For sure, don’t worry ! I’ve made so many videos before about all my good experiences and how to navigate the consulting world, but people like to focus on polarities. That’s why a video about quitting is getting more views. You’ll be fine and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it and make good friends. I’ll be coming next week with a video on how to survive and thrive within your first year at a big 4 so stay tuned :)!

The fact that people drop like flies kinda makes sense when you see there’s a structure where there’s more staff than seniors and more seniors than managers, more managers than partners. At some point most of us fall off the pyramid! I exited big 4 at senior

I hope your new career move is going well :)! I agree, there is a pyramid in place but I find that most people try to hold on until they just give out :/

I see a lot of these videos from recent grad's titled 'day in my life of big 4 consulting', followed by 'I quite my 6-figure consulting job' 6-12 months later. Consulting is difficult, but the grass is not always greener. There is a reason why MBB and top firms receive 1million+ applications a year. I think most grad's who get a spot, don't really know what to expect, and also do not understand the opportunity they have in front of them. My advice: stick it out, it will set you up for life. Good luck.

Where are people running to? What is the normal next step after the Big 4?
@erinafenix Жыл бұрын
Hi, good question ! Most frequently people switch to “industry”, a large company that may have been a client before, where the work hours are very reasonable and pay/benefits cushy. Surprisingly, a lot of people also bounce around different big 4s to get higher pay/ get promoted. MBB/IB is generally much harder to break into but is a coveted option, having consulting experience makes it easier for sure. I’m posting a video with more details about this tomorrow :)

True ! However mostly in very cutthroat departments- M&A, managerial etc Outside of that, every department is always on the look out for talent. This was just a catchy video title I made to address a common question newcomers have - why is the turnover so high. I made quite a bit of videos about the positives. Even in this one, I mention several times that I’m still working at Big 4 and the pros for me outweigh the cons :p

What are the common exit opportunities? Are people moving to the big 3 MBB/ investment banking.

I know of quite a few people that made the switch from B4 to MBB. Moving into IB seems less common, especially from management consulting.

How to getting into consulting? Any help And also love from india
@erinafenix Жыл бұрын
This is great question ! I’ll be coming out with a detailed video soon, but for now, in short - focus on a specific skill set you have - tech, finance, accounting, sales- get experience under your belt and then apply for ANY consultant position that suits your skillet. The moment your foot is in the door, it is MUCH easier to navigate across diffident consulting positions. Hope that helps, you got this :)!
