I’m excited. It will be my first time in Pandaland. Will have to touch grass more often when spring gets here but I will check it out.

WoW is really not bad. i think as people play more games that end up flopping, they'll start to see how good things are across the different versions of WoW

I'm not sure how well "classic" Mists of Pandaria is going to go in terms of popularity, but if that's what some people are looking for more power to them, I've got my "Anniversary" Classic running into Burning Crusade next year and I'm just vibing. Feels good to be playing WoW at the moment.

2025 is set to be an exciting year for WoW and Boklahoma! I'm having fun with classic with almost all aspects of the game except for people reserving all sorts of items in every dungenon run and raids! In Onyxia raids people reserve the Head of Onxyia In Molten Core all materials, BoE, Eye of Divinity, Ancient Petrified Leaf is constantly hard reserved, of course the legendary bindings are hard reserved, it's quite the.. experience ~

MMORPG is about immersion and interaction with other players for me. You explained it well with classic world being dangerous place and thats what I am here for. Even though it has it weaknesses. I will level up, play a bit of end-game ... play a bit of HC ... burn out and come back for TBC. I cannot play retail, it is too much of a theme park design.

I saved a low level guy in HC classic….. gave him a bunch of potions and food… we’re friends now he was so unbelievably thankful. Hard to recreate an experience like that

Just started playing since WOTHLK…. From what I have heard the quality of life stuff in retail seems like a good idea at first. For me trying to find a group in classic to enter a cave that you can’t do on your own is part of the magic. If you could just teleport people there to help you it defeats the purpose of WoW. It’s not a first person shooter . Just like hardcore ,understand why people don’t see the point of HC. But the danger is part of the fun. For me at least

I dont play wow atm unless you count Ascension which is a private server that is classless so you can mix and match abilyies from every class up to tbc wotlk will launch this year as far as normal wow though iam gonna return to it on The 20th and just like you iam gonna play both Classic and retail gonna play hardcore with a freind on Classic and The normal experience on retail

The gripes with classic are certainly things they should consider addressing if they ever do an official classic+. They are things that merit criticism, but you have to look at the game design through the lens of 2004. A lot of the poor quest design that had you run all over the place, turn in the quest and sent right back out to those places was intentional. The leveling in classic can be very fast. The average player can hit max level in 3 or 4 weeks. The end game wasn't the goal, the leveling was, so, short of taking 10 years to ensure every quest was perfect and the leveling perfectly paced they slowed you down by making you cross every square inch of Azeroth. They wanted to make the best game possible but also had a deadline to hit and I think they did the best any mmo has ever done.

the comment about finding a medic that doesnt get pissed when you raid is the main reason I do medicine on my main guy every playthrough. Like the game basically requires you to raid villages in order to cripple your enemy, it's literally a either us or them type of situation since theyre gonna be raiding ours non-stop.

the fantasy you speak of is a dedicated time walking where at Max level you can time walk back to the older content and it is brough up to your leveling level and has rewards for max level. Lock out flying in Zones for more rewards and reward persons for actually grouping in world content. or Enable HARD mode Time walking. :D. gonna be hard to get Retail anywhere near what Classic was gaming has changed alot and the instant gratification era is in full swing :D

Sorry bro, you’re never going to convince retail players classic is better because we have played it and it always ends the same way. Dead servers, end of new content, a world and PvP full of bots, speed running raids, and an endgame dominated by real money carries. In THEORY it could be better for all the reasons you said, but in practice the game has been metaed to death and the difficulty you think is there isn’t. It’s a solved game.

I play the current retail version including all expansions, love it. I played WoW right from the beginning, rank sergeant. I was never realy into pvp/high level bosses raid mode, because right from the beginning there where unfriendly/ bully players... I hate bully unkind players as very often those mf-ers are unkind in real life. Pitty, weening mama boys and girls how never saw and see daylight....so I play for the lore, the exploration of the world and the beauty that comes with it. In retail there are so many sub-quests and story lines, love that! Blizzard did a good job for solo questers, graphics look great today. But yes, nothing beats the feeling when I entered Duskwood for the first time, brrrrr. Even if I decide to play Vanilla again, that feeling cannot be the same. I think the game developed in a good way, hats off for Blizzard to keep a game succesful for over 2 decades!! Oh and when it comes to nostalgia and feeling, nothing beats Warcraft 2 and 3 for me, no discussion about it!

big issues in retail that most players can get behind: 1) world difficulty is too low 2) class homogenization 3) end game treadmill

you need to understand the context of 2004 wow class design coming from Everquest. In everquest "good clases" and "bad classes" were even more blatant, classic just came out of that tradition. need to understand Everquest as the dominant MMO that WoW was trying to "kill"

yeah end gamers in classic a silly. it's a made a up meta that's wrong. So they want to down rank so you can over heal. the game wasn't played like that back in the day. it's like a "brain dead" approach to the raid so they can spam heals like an idiot instead of playing classic how it's meant to be played - less healers that max rank heals, bring more dps.

Nope. Classic PvP sucks. Every button is just so damaged and your only defense is walking. Yeah awesome. Making smart decisions and looking out for defensives is what makes PvP great. You actually use your brain. You don't have to have a tracker for it if you don't want to. Retail PvP is actual PvP and it smokes classic. Classic only has one advantage over retail and it's that it's an actual RPG.

ret couldn't be fleshed out in classic without ruining everything. then they be like a warrior that could heal. then warrior's useless. that's the path retail went down.

retail can have all the strengths of classic tho. Blizzard f***ed it up. now we have 2 versions cuz they can't game dev right.

if retail increased world difficulty, removed mob scaling, then i think it could pull a lot of classic players to retail
