I just came from Asmongold's latest video, him talking about live service games and it got me demotivated. Then I watch this video of our mighty holy lord and now I just want to have fun in retail, get my score and curve, collect some mogs and mounts I like and just roll with the flow. Of all Horde leaders, Galliwyx is the only one that makes sense to be replaced. Gazlowle was the 'good guy goblin' back in Cata! Cata!!! I feel we just didn't do this before because we kept running "Horde are the baddies" stories back to back to back to back so made sense for a straight up villain to lead the goblins.

Loved Warcraft 1 when it came out (played the demo a ton, and quite a few LAN games with my brother churning out fire elementals), but I don't see myself buying the remaster. Felt the same with Warcraft 2 too. For remasters I'm sort of "part of the solution" by never buying them. I think the only ones I bought were *games I personally worked on* but lost the CDs over the years: AOE2 and Rise of Nations. For _remakes_ it's different. I'm open to them when design work is applied to them. Like River City Ransom Underground? Yeah I probably didn't get my money's worth (20 mins for $20-30 bucks?), but it's also the type of remake I'd buy again because some remakes like that will really make something fun. Final Fantasy 7 remake I hope to eventually get to someday too, as it's significantly different from the original and so it's way more interesting than a boring reskinned "remaster" would've been. Honestly gets me hyped thinking of the Starcraft 2 team doing a War1/2 remake where it's all modern RTS design choices (so remake the rosters while trying to keep a lot of those early units if possible). I wouldn't expect the campaign to go absolutely nuts with the CGI movies like SC2 did, but I'd be excited to play through the campaign if it's legitimately all new RTS campaign content (though it would clearly hit the same major story beats). And probably what I'd be most excited by is the idea of *Coop Mode* where you choose a leader (Khadgar, Medivh, etc) and it completely reflavors that faction (just like in SC2 coop) and you join 1-3 teammates to tackle really challenging missions. I'd absolutely love that.

Classic was awesome when we did it back then. I dunno if its people that missed out on it or only dabbled in wow a little bit back then. I'd rather not try to grind for Grand Marshall and do BWL all over again lol. They literally came out with stuff they already have and a lot of people are gobbling it up.

As for another good mmo, i'd say either star citizen or ashes of creation have a pretty good chance of becoming one, but that's probably just hopium!

Star Citizen tech will for sure influence game dev - game, not so much. AoC will fade like the other 100 or so "WoW killers" over the years. Even WoW didn't kill WoW, at least not so far.

WC3 Reforged fixed the menu, but reforged mode is still worse even with the option of upscaled classic models. The lighting looks weird and the campaign cutscenes have an uncanny static camera, not to mention that the audio is still the refoged audio with the only way to get the classic audio being to switch off reforged mode. Step in the right direction, but if they really want to fix Reforged, they need to give us real remastered models that don't look like some cheap mobile game knock off shit.
