Do you have or know of a "bare bones basic" version, I'm talking about a simple as possible version that only displays lap times? Just as minimal as possible, something like a GPS lap timer but with a giant display I could mount in my car?

I'm glad something on my channel actually helped someone! That's so funny to me but cool. Just some things that will help: -Put some rubber sheets under the base if you're not bolting it down, it will stop it moving when you drive on (and off). -The motor is 10A, so you can rewire it to use a conventional socket. -If you recess it into the floor, cleaning a fluid spill is a nightmare so install drainage. -If you reverse on you drive off forward so you won't get skid marks on the floor. Doesn't bother me, but just an FYI.

It'll be worth checking the diff oil level since it will be lowered due to the leak. Also, a bit of lube on the sealing surface helps the seal from being burnt from friction. Cheers for making up the seal installer tool design! I printed one of your designs to do my rear main seal. 👍

Hey Beavis, big fan of your vids ! especially the white NB, what a beast ! But i ve got a question that i ve been wanting to ask you for a long time, Instead of going the turbo route, Why not consider building a supercharged NB beast ?
@Bbeavis
@Bbeavis 19 күн бұрын
Thank you. The turbo made sense for the track car where I could build and tune it at a more serious level - and the parts availability lends more toward turbo. I had a supercharger for quite a while on the NA seen in this video, it was a great solution for a road car with more linear torque curve, lower cost and more mild power level.

My mechanic (official Mazda mechanic in my country) started using 10w60 in my nb. I only burn noticeable amounts of oil above 4500rpm. 230k km. should I keep using 10w60?
@Bbeavis
@Bbeavis 26 күн бұрын
If you drive the car in a warm climate, or perhaps a lot of spirited driving such as track days... and/or if you trust your mechanic - then 10w60 might be appropriate for you. I'd usually only use something like 10w50 or 10w60 for a track-dedicated car that sees high temperatures.

@Bbeavis
@Bbeavis Ай бұрын
@@rickportela6009 Price depends hugely, location, condition, service history, paintwork, etc. A rough price might be somewhere around $10,000 to $16,000 for 'most' cars (exceptions to that range may be highly modified or showroom quality cars). Similarly, a reasonably cared for car with 200,000kms could easily still have another 200,000 or more in it, or it could be on it's last legs if not serviced or neglected such as let to run low on oil.
