I have a max-d pull behind 20’ full tilt and it’s awesome. I’m going to trade it In for one of those big hydraulic tilt deck trailers though because you can definitely haul literally anything

I live in southwest Montana. I’m interested in being an o/o hotshot. I’m from California originally so I’m very familiar with the pnw and western states. You looking for lease on guys?

Loop the strap through the rim that’s what that black pad is for. Front straps pull back back straps pull forward. I’ve been doing it that way for 10 years

I think there’s a lot of loneliness if people let it get to that point. There’s definitely a lot of issues, especially if you don’t stay ahead of it all. Low pay though, not if you know what you’re doing.

Nice load. Sounds like you got a few direct customers, do you self dispatch or do you use a dispatcher? What kind of printer do you carry on the road with you? I'm looking for one that is compact. Anyway, stay safe out there!
@Blue_Sky_Hotshots12 күн бұрын
I’ve always just found my own freight and dispatched myself and my other truck. As far as a printer in the truck, I don’t have one, I just use the printers at the truck stops if I need to print a BOL.

Gotta get an air deflector up on the gooseneck. No pants? You know, I always wonder when I see a sign that says "No Shoes, No Shirt, No Service" why pants isn't part of that equation. Apparently at Pepperdine, it is.

Thanks for the content. I guess what I dont understand is why would you do hotshot instead of having a CDL and owning your own semi. Wouldnt that make more money instead of hotshot?
@Blue_Sky_Hotshots20 күн бұрын
For most people it does. If you build a hotshot company and have the right customers and brokers, that’s something else completely.

No we don’t offer dispatching yet, sorry. We are considering it, but there’s so many terrible dispatching companies that it’s hard for me to jump into.

I filled out an application a few weeks ago and was wondering if you still have an opening to lease on as a non cdl driver...!!!! Any news is good news weather is yes or no... Stay safe out there...
@robertcharles311426 күн бұрын
Ouch..... that definitely hurts. But it's humbling. Really needed to hear that. Just over 90 days on my authority. My trailer will be ready this weekend. Already called a few brokers to see about carrier packets. They want me to pull loads, not now... but right now. Asked about my equipment. I explain and it seems like everything is a go. I've noticed, the main companies bothering me want to dispatch and factor for me. And im hoping their services aren't needed. All this leasing on talk is making me nervous.

What size is your trailer and how much do you pull with your single axle? I have a 25+5 14gn and want to upgrade so bad
@Blue_Sky_Hotshots12 күн бұрын
The one I’m using in this video is a dual 7k 35+5 and then my other trailer is a dual 8k 30+5 (which is about to go up for sale). I would definitely upgrade asap, it’s gotta be pretty tough having only 30ft of deck.

The best advice I can give to someone wanting to start hotshot is to just buy a dual tandem sleeper truck off Facebook market place, and a trailer from Penske. Yes, there are places that will finance.

The driving test is waved when he has a CDL. It’s not required.
@Blue_Sky_HotshotsАй бұрын
By all means you can go by that when you lease someone on. But me, I’ll be documenting a road test and making sure they know how to secure cargo with straps and chains/binders. A copy of their CDL or road test certificate isn’t enough when my insurance is on the line. I include it in each driver qualification file for audit purposes.

I use D ring straps. I loop thru the rims all the way around. I put the front pulling forward and the two in the back I cross them with each other so they pull side to side and not let the back end hop around. I use to run a wrecker for 7 years. So cars was my thing lol.
