Not all the assets used in this reenactment are 100% historically accurate. G3M 'Nell' bombers are represented by K-21 'Sallys'. Wake Island map is more recent than December 1941 and facilities on it don't represent the situation during the battle. The submarine used to represent the Japanese one is a German U-boat which is being attacked by a P-47 instead of a Wildcat as another simulation had to be used. Photos of Saratoga also don't represent the time period. These are not mistakes but rather available compromises and there's no need to comment on them. Thank you for your understanding.

Wake had many civilian contractors who were captured and used a work force by the Japanese. When they were no longer useful they were executed. One American escaped the carnage and inscribed the events on a rock and was then captured and murdered. You can still visit the rock today at Wake

The president was so angry at the admiral who recalled the rescue ships from Wake that he made sure that admiral was never again in command of combat operations. He was reassigned to a training squadron instead, where he no doubt had ample leisure to consider that decision. (Do a Wiki search for the details.)

Thank you for this excellent part 2. F-4F WILDCAT against a Zero, no chance for the WILDCAT, the zero is more agile and the power to weight ratio is superior than the F-4F. Ilt's true at this time the Navy had only got three carriers left after the japonese attack on Pearl Harbor.
@dominiqueroudier94012 ай бұрын
@jeannezehner94502 ай бұрын
@dominiqueroudier94012 ай бұрын
