Glad i found your chanel, great content, i wanted to ask you what you think about the esp32 board for a project like this compared to the mach3?
@NikonCrayzee6 сағат бұрын
Brilliant tutorial - I was wondering if you could create organic forms and then treat them like solid objects with other measured solid geomtry - you answered that perfectly with an example. Thank you.

I came to say...exactly the same as just about everybody else said - awesome introduction to Freecad. I don't know where this video was hiding but you address key basic information that is pre-requisite to rally understand all other "introductory" videos on the topic. Thanks.

what do you do if the GrabCAD file has multiple components and you just want one of them

1:35 - you are not qualified to do what? put a wire in a hole and tighten a screw ? you said you have a master's degree in low voltage so your education is enough to connect two wires. but to connect two slightly thicker wires you need a separate certification for some reason. no wonder why 5$ monkey's job like changing a wall power socket today cost 300$.
@thehardwareguyКүн бұрын
It's not about being capable of doing it, it's about qualification. Power electronics requires certification by law by somebody qualified to sign it off. For example.... if you do a bad wiring job and your house burns down as a result, your home insurer will investigate and ask you who approved your wiring, if nobody approved your wiring. Your policy will be void. Do it by the book.
@vasyapupken12 сағат бұрын
and you really doesn't see anything wrong about it ? ) for example... i know proper grounding is a big thing in UK. everything must be grounded cause otherwise it will be very dangerous. at the same time many countries have no ground wire at all and nobody gets hurt or anything.

Hi mate. I just want to say, THANKS for all the work you has put into this project, and I'am looking forward to watch your videos about making guitars on you CNC. I have been a Luthier for more than 40 years, and have for the last 10 years dreamed about making a CNC that i can carve some nice body's, neck's and fretdoards with wilde inlays. And now i might will be able to do so, thanks to your crazy amount of work. Thanks again mate and merry christmas 🙂

In part 2 of this series you mention parametric design. What if take a existing STL file and want to through all these steps and parameterize this model? Is it possible? Useful?

Just wanted to say a big thanks for putting this together. I have the exact same setup as you have here but for some reason my Nema 23 was only running slowly. Then I noticed that you mentioned in a comment about the xml file for the Mach3 config. I swapped it over for your version and it's now running at a reasonable speed.

Hi mate. Great video and great CNC build. I wonder, how slow can you run your 2.2Kw spindle and cut metal's without the spindle heats up ?

Check for "AluPower" 3 flutes end mill from YG. Their flutes are miroir polished and you need a little or even no coolant at all. 1500-2500 of surface feet(sf) is correct. To preventing clogging, a small spray of W40 from time to time is a good solution specially when you machine soft aluminum (soft 1000-3000 series) or copper which can be a pain in the a@@. Hope it will help.👍🇨🇦😊

Holds up really well, gets very messy as you can imagine so cleanup takes a while. Ideally it would be much better with a shell over the top

I was leaning heavily towards the Xtool until I learned that it was cloud dependent. Forget, the privacy issues, forget the fact that your work may be sold to others en masse in China. Time and again people have had expensive could based devices go dark when (1) the manufacturer went out of business, (2) the manufacturer dropped support for their model, (3) the manufacturer suddenly imposed substantial recurring fees, or (4) The product changed hands between companies and the new owner did (1), (2), or (3). Even big companies, including Amazon and Google have done this, leaving customers with thousand dollar paperweights. So, while I like the Xtool, I will buy the Creality. Cloud dependency is a deal killer. It should be that way for everyone so that this money grabbing privacy invading gimmick will quietly fade away.
@thehardwareguy13 күн бұрын
The xTool S1 is not cloud dependent. It operates entirely offline and you can store all your projects locally. It just requires a USB connection to a PC in order to communicate with xTool Creative Space software (or LightBurn).

What an excellent project - the amount of work and detail that you have included in this CNC is awesome - about as clear as building one of these machines is going to get! Way to go with giving them away, not sure I get it but that is very generous and I am sure many folks will appreciate the amazing work that you have done. I am currently building one myself and had already started before I saw this video. However my design is virtually the same, just in a smaller scale. I guess there are not a ton of different ways to do this, but I have seen several and some that do not look that good. For example, one important thing that varies is the type of linear motion systems that are used. In your case I do believe that you have picked (from a design standpoint ) the very robust linear rails and carriages. Other machines use less robust choices like the round rail systems (not bad but not nearly as good) or cam rollers which are not accurate or strong at all. Last thing is about the control of the CNC. Why did you choose Mach 3 for your machine? I am only asking as the software choices are the hardest part of the machine for me to understand. Reading up here in the USA I have narrowed down my CNC software to either be LinuxNC or FluidNC. The nice thing about both of these is that they are fully open source and from what I can tell are both very capable platforms. Again, awesome work, glad that I found your channel. Cheers

I'm looking to purchase this system for my wife but torn between the 40w and 20w options. What is your recommendation. Xtool currently has a bundle for the 40w that includes the 2w IR laser for small detailed engraving.
@thehardwareguy19 күн бұрын
Hi, I'd go for the 40W as it covers all your bases. It's fantastic for both cutting and engraving. The 2W IR bundle is a great deal and that module is also fantastic for working with jewellery, raw metals, and plastics. The 20W module will not disappoint either, it all comes down to budget really :)
