Awesome explanation, I'd love a follow up on value sketching a mini before "coloring" it.

Why start with the allied color and not not just blend the two to begin with?

Okay okay, this feels a bit like ghoulishness, the video is already a few years old, but...just yesterday I asked you in the stream how I can improve my colour thinning, and here is the video. Thank you very much :) To everyone else: The good man is not only extremely talented, he also streams live on Twitch, and Fridays are ‘WIP Day’, when you can get feedback on your minis. Brilliant! :)( oh yeah, my main account has a different name, u usually just call me "comic" :D)

Great little explanation! Thank you! It really made some things click when thinking about the basecoat/shade/hightlight method that gets taught. I think volume gets lost where paint companies sell different "colours" to highlight with, so newbies like me think in terms of colour.

My last 6 w&n have been absolure garbage ill never buy another. It was very hard to get kolinsky brushes in the US for a bit and the only brush i could find was rosemary and co. What a happy accident. The last 5 #2 have all been perfect. The one i use most often even for stippling has been going for a year. I just pulled a stray bristle yesterday for the first time in months. I cant wait to try the kimera brushes though because i love slanted brushes and i think the arrow tip will lend itself well to my painting. Thanks for this video. Down with w&n 😂

I love that when you tried to show the bristles don't spread that your first stroke the bristles do spread. But only the once.
