I bought a Boog 55 when it first became available. It makes me really appreciate how well Bob Moog designed the system. I could never figure out why Moog didn't reissue the modules in eurorack format. It's a great design, and produces a huge range of sound.

@@domeniquexander_ -If youre set to sync in (i cant remember exactly what the settings are) it might be that the sequencer is waiting for an external sync signal before starting. So either set it to internal or sync out, or if you have it slaved to another sequencer (like the rd-8) make sure that its plugged in via sync in round the back of your ms-1 and its playing before you hit start on the MS-1's built in sequencer. The whole CV thing is a bit of a learning curve to get your head around at first.- *BUT In the video i think I had the rd8 trigger out connected to the ms-1 trig in and had the ms-1 set to sync out. As I was only using the trig connection between the rd-8 and ms-1*

Similar workflow, except for that swing activated, and also having to turn the glide knob per step. I could have sworn the SH-101, you just selected legato in the sequencer.

No offense.. but I don't understand these videos sweeping osc and filters like a laboratory A/B (ish) comparaison. From my experience. It's only when you have a patch and play around that you get the real power of a synth vs another. From the build, to the sound I was always desapointed by any Behringer tools I had (mics :p (yuk) , pedals, synths.. cheap components, noise floor.. cheap build there's always something that's annoying in the long run.

I’ve just recently bought a System 15 and I’ve noticed a drop in level whenever I patch into the 914. Is this normal or do I have a faulty module on my hands? It’s the same when I patch into the low pass filter as well…
@ZvookUK Жыл бұрын
If I remember correctly, there should be a lower baseline so that the 'peaks' of the freq bands can be amplified. So id say that sounds normal. In fact now I'm thinking about it, I'm certain that's normal. It's been a while since I used the 914, but i remember the overall level dropping.

Ohhhh okay, I was confused. I thought you were comparing moog and behringer equipment side by side, but it appears the moog sounds are from a pre recorded demo. Is that a fair comparison? And is it fair to Behringer? 😅
@ZvookUK11 ай бұрын
It’s the best I could do unfortunately- at the time I made this there weren’t any comparison videos and I couldn’t get my hands on a moog system 55 (I would have loved to have been able to do a proper side - by - side) so I lifted the demo from another video (details in the description). I tried to be as fair and accurate as possible given the restrictions. In the original video you can see what the demonstrator is doing and he also talks through what he is doing. To be honest I originally did it to satisfy my own curiosity but ended up sharing it and making a video for others who were interested.

Thanks for making this video. I bought a Metropolix but struggled to make it sound acid-y. (I know, right?) Turns out I just needed to shorten the pulse count and use mod lanes to spice it all up. (I was trying to do it via high pulse counts.) It was good to see you work through idea methodically, instead of some other videos where they just show snippets of good patches without actually showing you how they got there. A+

What did you do to make the noise snare?
@ZvookUK Жыл бұрын
Hi, if I remember correctly I used the noise (obviously) and either the square wave or triangle for the mid/bass ‘body’ of the snare, and since the MS-1 doesn’t allow envelope control over the pitch I believe I utilised the glide function from a high note to a low note at a quick setting for a bongo type pitch effect. Messed around with the envelope to get the right setting for snappy hit with a decaying tail. Then sampled a few “hits” and picked the best of the batch to use in the song

wish the accumulation would rise +1 within the scale you are working in instead of just semi tones.
@ZvookUK Жыл бұрын
It does - just set the scale for the track and set the accumulator limit to +\- 1 and the accumulator setting on the stage you want to effect to either plus 1 or minus 1. It will then increase just one note up or down within the selected scale. You can go up/down by two or more notes too but the settings can be tricky to get your head around

Is it possible to do this with the 960 sequencer & 962 swithch? How would I patch it from RD-8? Help please
@ZvookUK Жыл бұрын
You just patch one of the RD-8 triggers outs to the envelope driving the VCA and VCF that you’re using. And patch the Pitch CV to the VCO as normal from the 960. You just have to make sure they are synced together, so patch the osc out (clock/trigger) of the 960 to the RD-8’s sync in. The trigger outs on the RD-8 are 1/4” jacks so you’ll have to have a cable with a 1/4 mono jack on one end and a 3.5mm mono jack on the other
