Hi I have a set of Mail Coach kits of the Coronation coaches. I bought them from a friend who was left them in an estate. He was only interested in US prototypes. Have you tried Hobbyrama? Good luck and you've got a nice layout. Paul from Zillmere

I strongly suspect Hornby will do another release of these coaches so hopefully you'll be able to get the missing pair then and not at highway robber prices. In the meantime they did sometimes run with just six. Sadly I missed the inital pre-order at £99/pair as I wasn't working at the time so couldn't afford them. However my finances have improves since then and I got a pre-order in for the full rake just before hornby raised the price again last year. Their a quality set with great detail, interiors lights and the tail lights. And the close coupling is fantastic, especially when you fit the magnetic coach ends and couplings. Hornby have just announced A4 'Dominion of New Zealand' in the Coronation livery of garter blue and silver trim in their Dublo range to go with this set. I've already got Dublo 'Dominion of Canada' and the extra weight of the diecast body makes a difference when hauling the full rake compared to my plastic A4s, which manage but sometimes have a bit of wheel slip when starting off. I was surprised your tender drive D49 managed it.

Hi Stewart, Super set along with mighty fine locos as for the odd one out set could you have it resprayed a lot cheaper than A$500 I would think, keep up the good work so nice to see your layout running so well. Cheers Robert.

I always watch until the end Stewart - otherwise I’d miss out on other gems like the brush turkey! Those articulated coaches are pretty smart, and the blood and custard set doesn’t look out of place at all. The night scene was excellent. All the best mate.

I’m running a seven car set as really I don’t have enough space for the final pair .so coaches A-F and the beavertail car hauled by my old Hornby Seagull . With magnetic close coupling she looks superb. Cheshire dates from 1981 .

Those Blood and Custard Coaches look like they have been repainted. Could they have been Teak coaches originally? I can only run a six-coach train on my layout. Like you, I model LNER. Martin. (Thailand)

Don't be too hard on yourself, mate. We all make mistakes. Perhaps the mistake you made was made for sentimental reasons. Yet I agree that it's no good purchasing an expensive model, which you can't run on your railway. Can't you send it back and get a refund? It might make you feel better.

Gee Stewart, I think we’ve all been caught out by expensive mistakes! I’ve done it, but on the other hand, I’ve picked up some decent bargains along the way, so maybe in the long run they even themselves out☺️ See , you picked up your $100 bargain with the blue loco! And please - don’t do carpet reviews. If I tried that, I’d have trouble getting up off the floor😀 Always enjoy your videos!

Marklin do make DC two rail models, but importantly now under their Trix brand, at least in this century. Was pleased to come across their Trix K class 2-12-0 second hand in excellent condition at a very good price in a Melbourne local hobby shop.

Unless one is in the genre, it is an easy mistake to make. I am a Märklin fan and runner, but when I bought my first train in late 2015, I didn't know they were 3 rail, either. Now, I am all 3 rail (AC). It is a bit involved, but there are videos to show you how you could convert it back to DC (2-Rail) and maybe still enjoy it. It's a bit of re-wiring and switch out the wheels to DC (insulated) ones. You may even have spares of those around. Anyhow, that was a BEAUTIFUL blue steamer. The 4-6-0 was sharp, but the blue just stands out nicely. The Chinese DF11 was definitely an impressive weight. Nice layout and great running trains!

Should have ended with a more atmospheric GWR steamy and a rake of Chocolate & Cream Mk. 1 coaches. That's so much more magical. I'd like to see those diesels static, and every single one of your steam engines running, in a fun Steam Gala event. Bring out short goods trains, double-head some passenger trains, run a brake van special with P Class Bluebell at the helm. Steam Rules supreme, except the ugly P2 and GT3.

After that modulation on the last verse this song is SO freaking high, and Joel's all over it! He has such excellent timbre and complete control you don't even notice what an incredibly high voice he has. BTW, the music to the chorus was written by Beethoven, who gets a credit on the album. the original version was Karl Haas's theme for "Adventures in Fine Music."
