It's been really tough to balance this year with some of my game development duties ramping up hence why I've had to do 15-20 hour impressions more often than I'd like. I also have the benefit of doing this as a job, so the extra time spent is more justifiable. Play at your pace! :)

My top recommendation for this year are: Trails through daybreak (really good jrpg) Sonic X shadow generations (One of if not the best sonic games ever made) Persona 3 Reload (Has one of the best stories out of any video game ever made) Dead space remake (If you can find it for cheap it’s a really good game) Resident Evil 4 Remake (By far my favourite in the series) Mario and Luigi Brothership ( really fun and calming game that doesn’t take it self serious) Mario RPG remake (It’s short but is a really good traditional rpg with lots of charm) Tetris Effect/ Tetris Effect connected (One of the best looking puzzle games of all time along with really a good atmosphere and Soundtrack)

lies of p is a masterpiece. the story telling style and the world and atmosphere literally feels like a fromsoft game. i actually enjoyed it AS much as dark souls 3 and bloodborne. the polish is unbelievable you’d never know it’s not from a massive AAA studio

It’s nowhere near as good as either of those properties. The combat is a clunky mess, the world design is bland and struggles to capitalise on the Victorian aesthetic and the characters are mostly have all the personality of a door knob

The Dishonored series was so good, I second Mattys recommendation. A really good visual novel on the Switch is Emio the Smiling Man. It’s part of the Famicom Detective Club series, you investigate multiple deaths tied together to a serial killer from the past. First VN I ever played, I never thought I’d like that genre of games. I’m currently playing Bombrush Cyberfunk right now, it passes the vibe check. Love the style of that game.

For Neo TWEWY, even as an avid rpg gamer, NEO cover art looks just like the original TWEWY. I didnt know it was a different game without closer inspection. Shoot i thought Neo meant it was a remaster (tho i know there was one). Still didnt end up getting it tho 😅😅😅

Glad you gave banishers some love. Really enjoyed the game and did all the haunting cases! So many tough decisions on if you should blame, banish, or ascend. I started to feel fatigued in the last few hours with the repetitive gameplay but, still loved the experience.

I can't express enough that if you like Dragon Quest HD-2D then you NEED to play Octopath Traveler 2. It's turn based heaven that's not in the persona/metaphor vein.

Dude this Black Friday I got El Paso Elsewhere $10 Nioh remastered Collection $10 Silent Hill 2 remake $35 Sparking Zero $40 Hitman 1,2 and 3 for PS5 $19 Tomb Raider 123 remastered $10 Batman Arkam City Wii U free Resident Evil 6 remastered $17 Balatro $10 God of War 3 remastered PS4 $10 Just Cause 3 $3. Thats 16 games for $164 making every game average out to $10.50 per game. Now I just need more time to play games lol.

I thought Banishers was a great game. I enjoyed the combat, most of the puzzles were fun and I found the story interesting. There is definitely replay opportunities because of the different choices you can make. There weren’t any major bugs. I had a great time and felt I got a great game!

I bought the Royal edition for like $4 not too long ago and played for a couple hours. I love medieval games and this one would be okay for me but the realism brings it down for me. And I’m sorry but the 30fps isn’t doing it for me. If they were to do a 60FPS update then I would continue it.

Pick up DOA 2 Ultimate and 5, and don't buy any costume DLC for 5, its not worth it. This series used to be great. DOA2 Ultimate is one of the best fighting games of all time.

"Rain Code isn't a great game". Yeah, it isn't. It's actually fucking awesome. 😀 But you somehow always seem to not really like my favorite games (aside from Persona 4, which I think is the exception now, not the norm). Also, Raincode is on Xbox too, and it's $60 in a bundle with all three Danganronpa games in a bundle, so go pick it up everyone. (Sadly digital only). Oh, and also on PC. 😀
