Forced myself to play 12 hours until I realised the game was literally bloatware. Whatever decent story people claim Inquisition has, it's buried underneath bloat and boring gameplay.
@trashtv6138Ай бұрын
I do agree with anyone that says Inquisition has a lot of horrible fetch quests and collect-athons that cheapen it to the point it can seem low effort in places. But at the same time, for a general 50-60 hour playthrough, all the garbage you don't want to do absolutely can be skipped. It seems people let their desire to want to "do everything" completely take over their mindset in certain games, and this is one of them. You want some extra coin or exp points? Go do the meaningless side quests. The side quests like "find a ring" are only there if you want to do them, they aren't required to progress anywhere so just move on with your day. What I do dislike is how many side quests are left out of this conversation that are actually amazing. The temple you can find in the desert area which has tonnes of interesting lore, as well as a really cool fight at the end to return a time warp to normal and get a cool necromancer staff...Where's the mention of that? There are loads of quests like this all over the open areas. The Mayor flooding his people? Fixing pathways in the desert and gaining entry to the darkspawn infested keep? The demon that's taken over the keep in the snowy area that you can bargain with? This is all really great stuff, but it's side content that is never touched upon because people like to focus on the fetch quest rubbish that can be skipped over completely.

I replayed DAI for the third time and did pretty much a completionist playthrough of the game earlier this month. It was better than I remembered it. It also made me think that there hasn't been a decent RPG release in terms of storytelling outside of Japan except Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 in the last 10 years since DAI. At least not as great as Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk. Outside of indie games like Disco Elysium of course. The main story, companion interactions and quests (i'm talking quest and interaction not characters, outside of couple of exceptions Origins and DA2 still had better companions imo) were genuinely some of the best Bioware has done. The main quest sections in DAI was genuinely some of the best Bioware has ever done. The sad thing all the good stuff was brought down by some terrible quest design in the open world. That is not to say there weren't bad areas. Exalted Plains, Emerald Graves, Emprise Du Lions and Crestwood were some of the better done zones where the main conflict in those areas actually had some impact in the world and fit the role of the inquisitor. The main negative is the lack of cutscenes which we have been so accustomed to in Bioware games. The lack of cutscenes in dialogue was a major let down. Also the random collectibles that this game had. Why did they think this was a good idea? I also felt that this was the best iteration of Bioware's dialogue wheel. Honestly if not for the open world fluff I think it would have thoroughly deserved the GOTY award that it got. 2014 was an awful year for gaming though. The other game I remember being nominated was Shadow of Mordor. A good game making innovations with the nemesis system, but should be nowhere near GOTY. They really needed to cut down a lot of the fluff, the quests in the Hinterlands and the Hissing Wastes was horrible. 90% of it was a complete waste of time. HInterlands was a pretty looking area but that was about it. All the DLCs were great, though Jaws of Hakkon had some of the open world issues the base game had. It was a bit better but not really that much better. DAI was always a good game, not Bioware's best, not the best DA game but it was always good. It just had to live up to extremely high standards because of DAO and is constantly compared to that. But it was never a bad game. I am personally very critical of DAI but I still liked it. Also as a lore nut and especially going into it hoping for some lore into the Dreadwolf going it it back in the day during launch, this game is great. Lorewise DAI adds a ton to the franchise and probably the most important game.
@statesmindsАй бұрын
I replayed this year with all dlc and i made sure to not let hinterlands and side stuff bog me down as playing and just did a lot of it later and was way more enjoyable. Nightmare mode is not that hard if you have the right builds. There are mage class combos that synergizes with specific party members that makes all enemies very easy to defeat even on the hardest difficulty. But you need to build all characters perfectly to get there. Not just your own character but also micro manage the leveling of all the other characters as well. I have not played the game sense maybe 2016 so don't remember all the details but it was something with lightning and stunning that was so OP.
@enrique6335Ай бұрын
Ability combos is really how this game is meant to be played, especially in higher difficulties. Bioware, in-game, does very little to explain this, leaving it to the player to discover the mechanics by themselves. Enemies are all just damage sponges and not using combos just makes combat a chore.

Just one short re-visit to Inquisition's world (I'm certainly not finishing this character's story this coming week!) before I'm taken to the story 10 years later. The earlier videos focused on older games that you love, with some sort of personal experience attached to it. Or you diving into older games that you missed out on and giving a shot. As of late, this channel has been more geared toward the lasted releases. The history of newer games, or the previous release of a new installment, movie game etc. I would like to see you go back to the channel’s roots and try some “new” older games or talk about a game from your childhood with new eyes. I thought DAI was the weakest of the DA games at release, and I still fell that way. On the other hand DAV has made DAI look a lot better in comparison. Say what you will about the gameplay or the story, they put a hell of a lot of effort into making as many of our previous choices matter as possible.

Originally I liked this game but later on I grew to hate it, not just because of the mmo fetch quest of it but also so many bland characters compared to origins. Everything good about this game exist outside of it and even those are not enough (how did leleina and morrigan turned out for exmaple) And as bad as veilgaurd seems I feel I will like it more than inquisition. But none of them will be near enough as good as origins.

I could never make it past a few hours into DAI, no matter how many times i tried. I was considering trying it again on console but there was no enhanced patch (ps5).

Where DA:I truly thrives is in its writing. The gameplay loop has issues, the banter is too far apart, and too many fetch quests (at least early on), but the character writing, and the twists and turns are great. To truly appreciate it, you need to play trespasser. Solas suddenly became my favorite character in the series, going above Morrigan and Alistair. Which is a real achievement.

I have tried to play this game a handful of times but i just cannot get past how slow it feels and i absolutely despise the combat...it is SO boring...you nailed it with calling it a Single Player MMO. I hate traditional MMO's and it honestly feels like im playing one when I play Inquisition.
@johnpantag472Ай бұрын
Maybe if you tried to do ability combos instead of just holding r2 or r then it wouldn't be boring at all. This game has insane combo potential and no game has such fluid combos and animations. The warrior in origins and inquisition is a correct example. The warrior in origins is the most boring thing iv played

@@johnpantag472 Ability combos is how Inquisition is meant to be played, except Bioware left us to discover this by ourselves. Otherwise, yeah, combat is a chore.

I will give the internet credit they were saying single player mmo back at launch but I couldn’t relate ocularums and shards didn’t catch my attention but closing all the rifts seemed like something my inquisitor should care about ppl reference the hinterlands when talking about the games questing issue but the inquisition was just founded I look at the hinterlands quests as the world’s introduction to the inquisition just helping the small folks get them bedding food set up watch towers it gave my herald and the inquisition credibility you can obviously identify the pointless quests that have no more value then simply get me this and you get gold and you can literally just decide your inquisitor doesn’t have time to escort a druffalo I didn’t feel overly forced into a majority of the games filler just felt like even if loot and gear from a lot of these quests rewards were underwhelming they fed and supported my role playing same outlook helped me appreciate the war table and actually read out and think through which advisor to use only way I could understand the frustration is if you were going for the 100% trophy😂

I'm going to put all of my trust in you to give a 100% honest review on Dragon Age The Veilguard before I decided to purchase or not. You seem to know Dragon Age games, and you're not afraid to call out studios like Bethesda, even with your (a little bit worrisome) industry access. I will not trust a single mainstream source on this games review. I don't even know if I can trust SkillUp anymore Just.... please. If the game sucks, just say so. I really don't want to support Bioware anymore. But if some content creators I watch give me an honest review and say it's good, I will give it a chance I just have a feeling this game is going to be peak "modern audience" shit

If I'd be playing it for the first time again? Yes. Yes I would.

Dragon Age Inquisition is my favor in the trilogy. The companions are good. I liked the gameplay and progression. Cassandra is the best.

I played this earlier this year. Lucky people warned me of the Hinterlands so I didn't stay there. Just did a few stuff each time I visit through out the game and it wasn't so bad.
