back when the ABC believed in education rather than brainwashing indoctrination...

It wasn't the ABC, although Rob worked there as well. CS was Channel Nine.

@@CuriosityShow really? my bad... always just recalled it as abc... ch2 with dr who... yeah, agro, funniest home videos... what else was on 9? a country practise? compared to what they have now, and they wonder why viewing is down... discluding internet of course.

i remember this one - i used another method by just "firing" them into the target like a dart... btw this highpitch-noise in the videos fells very nostalgic, i always gotten the old tvs of my parents, and they all had this noise as soon they were on :-)

If it weren't for gravity there'd be no need for ball bearings ay?

anyone who says they are not afraid of a female mouse spider is a liar. Scariest spider. The fact that they are gentle and wish you no harm does not reduce the fear. They still freak you out. Its the fangs. Those massive fangs.

Another example of oil preventing friction is in an engine - the pistons never touch the cylinders because there are sprung rings that are separated from the cylinder walls by a film of oil that allows millions of rotations without wearing out any of the surfaces, which is why you have to regularly change your oil to prevent particles from getting into those tight moving parts. 👍

Great lesson about friction, but when you used that one car with gear-shaped tyres which went up the sandpaper ramp, I wasn't able to hear you describe what's going on due to the toy's mechanism.

I think I figured it out! Spoilers ahead: . . . After the first motion, technically the string isn't looped around our subject's finger anymore. Both sides of the loop wrap around the same way, and are only held in place by the magician's finger. Then, the loop is restored around the subject's finger, but from the other side of the ring - leaving one loop around the finger, and the ring all on one "side" of the assembly! (This was not easy to describe in words - but I think I've got the picture!)
