I live in Humboldt County and have always wanted to Fish for striper in the Bay Area during the ocean run or even in the Sac river. I fish for Surf Perch a lot so hooking a striper in the surf is a dream of mine. I have been crab snaring since the ocean is dangerous right now for beach fishing up here.
@TAILGATEFISHINGАй бұрын
@KZbinMastersDegree yea, i have also wanted to do some striper fishing down there during the run, I stopped at a tackle shop in sf, and the pictures of the huge fish they catch there were crazy. I'm new to this lure fishing, as you can probably tell, so I'm hoping to do more of it.

I’ll give you some good advice when going for threshers cast kist your Sputnik out thme slide a whole mackeral down hooked it threw the tail they love that on a 5/0 circle hook mostly in the ealry morning is wjem they come out some times in the evening to amd if there is mackerel around there is threshers fact I have caught a 11 ft one 10 ft one to cast of the left side on the bottom not from the top just a fyi I use 70 pound braided with no mono leade just straight braid never broke off yet good luck you can use a smaller spider weight that one you use is to big tho I use the reales ones that collaps when they got it because if they can’t pull that weight out of the bottom they wil breaks you off before you hook them they got it with the tail first them come back and get the mackerel half do work sometimes but when I put a whole mackerel on it I get hit a lot more tho good luck and That pier is hard to cast off as there is a lot of people there tho I fished there last week no casting room but good luck
