You forgot how Michelangelo put horns on Moses’ head -partially due to misinterpretation of the Bible and partially due to anti-semitism. “Everybody knows Jews have horns” (why else would they never take off their hats).

also michelangelo didn’t sculpt the people on the “second level” of his piece that was for Julius II, but by someone else of arguably less technique than michelangelo. it was a frequent problem that michelangelo ran into, accepting projects that were too grand, and didn’t consider the time and work he would need to put into it. human just like all of us :)

If you have a German, Austrian, Liechtenstein, or Dutch passport or can prove you are from a German region such as South Tyrol, Alsace, German Switzerland, or German speaking Belgium, you are also allowed to visit the Campo Santo Teutonico within Vatican territory! Daily from 7-12 (except on Wednesdays) visitors who qualify may request access in German from the Swiss guard posted at the Petriano gate south of St Peter’s between the Colonnade and the Palazzo del Sant’Uffizio.

@ Entry is free, also apparently nowadays you don’t need to prove you are from those regions, all you need to do is ask in German even if you’re not a native speaker it likely is fine. So I’d say definitely worth a shot!

Actually the change of burial plans was Julius’s own idea. He nixed the grand mausoleum because the cost was prohibitive and asked Michelangelo to paint the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel instead.
@KatieParla20 күн бұрын
@@Kpooji the contract for the tomb’s completion and new location was written in 1513 after Julius II’s death no? Leo X would not have been keen on continuing the project in San Pietro in Vaticano for many motives, especially in light of the fact Julius 2’s uncle tried to kill his dad.

A long way to go for a simple dish, excellent job. But as a cookbook author you really should higher quality pans and a lid. White balsamic would a nice finish in this dish. Cacciatore means hunter, this guy had a bad day in woods if all he brought home were herbs, not even a mushroom.
