If the book of Mormon is the most correct book on earth why even call the bible scripture anymore? Its missing books, has many mistakes, theres a bout a gizillion translations in the English language alone that are contradictory? Some bibles have different number of books and different canons as well, for example: 66-Protestant, 73-Catholic , 79-Eastern Orthodox, 81-Ethiopian, 88-Ethiopian Extended Canon, etc? Im in a unique place amongst these several other comments. I want to believe in the Book of Mormon and completely reject the bible as "sacred" or "canon" all together. It seems Mormons only claim the bible as "sacred scripture" to pander to protestants and evangelicals who attack them or so they can still claim to be apart of the "christian" club so to speak. Lol i dont like this at all. Id strongly prefer to just believe the book of Mormon alone or maybe some other Mormon or apocryphal texts as long as they do not conflict with the book of mormon itself....but not the bible. I dont like the bible.

I love the stories in the New Testament about Jesus Christ. We learn so much about His life and miracles. It's irreplaceable.

Because I think some of the things written in there are the word of God, as spoken through prophets. "What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken, and I excuse not myself; and though the heavens and the earth pass away, my word shall not pass away, but shall all be fulfilled, whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same." - Doctrine and Covenants 1: 37

The problem with a lot of people that say that the Book of Mormon is false, and contradicts the Bible, is that they take a bible only perspective, and don't allow the idea that anything else can be added to the doctrine of christ. They also create particular beliefs, and say yhe book of mormon has to link up with whatever the bible says. The problem is whether or not the interpretations of the bible are correct in the first place. It's a doctrine that claims sonething else, so to say that it's wrong because it's not what you believe, it's intellectual dishonesty. If you're working from a conclusion, then backwards, you're illogical.

It is not the same understanding of Jesus Christ that mainstream Christians have, this is correct. But this is precisely the reason that a restoration was needed. Because God and Jesus needed to strike down the false creeds, the trinity being one of them.

Mormonism is heresy, you don't believe Jesus is God and you believe that when we die we'll all be God's when God clearly said there will be no other Gods other than him. John 10:30-38 Jesus claims to be God. John 14:8-10 Jesus claims to be God. 1 Timothy 4:1 It says that Jesus will judge the dead and living, which is something only God can do. Mormonism is a pagan religion, a religion that has many gods. My religion teaches me that Jesus is God, the Father is God, and the Holy Spirit is God, and they are all one God in three forms and they can't be separated. John 1 says in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God

i can give you a number of straight forward bible verses that clearly disprove the lds beliefs. here’s one Exodus 34:14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God. proving god and jesus is one God and there are no other gods that will or have been

We use the King James Version of the Bible and here is what that transition says " For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:" We don't worship any other God, so this verse proves nothing, and there is nothing in this verse that says that Jesus Christ and God the Father are one person. That makes absolutely no sense to me. How can someone be the Son of God and God at the same time? Why would Christ repeatedly pray to his father? Was he praying to himself? All of that makes absolutely no sense to me and there is no scripture that proves that and no argument that makes that consistent. In our last session of General Conference one of God's appointed leaders explained what we believe very well "We believe that God the Father “is an exalted man” with a glorified “body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s; [and] the Son also.” Thus, every time we talk about the nature of God, in some way, somehow, we are also talking about our own nature. And this is true not only because we all were made “in [His] image, after [His] likeness,” but also because, as the Psalmist recorded, God said, “Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.”- Elder Rubén V. Alliaud I don't care what you believe but please try to understand what I believe and why I believe it before making blanket claims about my beliefs that you don't understand.

99% of those who oppose the Book of Mormon - Another Testament of Jesus Christ have never read it. Keep that in mind when you celebrate the comments section. So many lazy learners in our society. No book testifies more of Jesus Christ, than the Book of Mormon. Yet all of these commenters have been brainwashed to have no idea of that.

Thanks for sharing, was Jacob right or wrong? Could he have been wrong? I think so. Perhaps he was taught incorrectly that the skin was a curse, when Nephi clearly states that the skin of blackness wasn't the curse.

God looks on the heart brother bednar, not your works, if you obeyed all the temple laws but didnt believe in Jesus, God is going to see right through you. I know someone who goes to the temple weekly, you know what he told me the other day? He openly admitted he doesn't truly believe in the church. So tell me brother bednar you still think hes going to the Celestial kingdom? You better think about that before you answer. Not to mention, if you did know, then the whole point of faith becomes null and void and if everyone can know where theyre going, guess what that means? It means the vast majority of us are going to hell because now we are held on a higher standard. Brother Bednar, it's faith that saves you, its faith that justifies you to God, we do good works out of love for God and to show our gratitude to him. We dont do good works to get to heaven, if righteousness came by the law than Christ died in vain.

Not everything a Prophet says is divine or doctrine. No, blacks are not the descendants of Cain. As far as we're aware of, all of Cains lineage died in the great flood, unless Noah's wife or Hams wife was a descendant of Cain, which more then likely, they're not.

True for the most part. But unfortunately the D&C and the LDS church do not fit with either. The BOM doctrines are quite Protestant and contradict many LDS doctrines once the doctrines began to change. Lectures on Faith was thrown out and the godhead was invented, the original D&C 101 was thrown out, the 3 kingdoms of glory came and replaced the binary heaven/hell taught repeatedly in the BOM. But I don’t expect any 19 year olds to know about any of this. So you might want to go learn about it.😊

We gotta not allow this type of misinformation as Christian’s. The Book of Mormon is the most ridiculous nonsense ever published. Mormonism is a money racket and only that. Polygamy was the standard in the Mormon religion since inception but once it was made illegal in Utah in the 80’s they rewrote the book. Show me another major religion that revamped their entire view on something as serious as marriage not even 40 years ago.

I’m not a Christian, but saying dumb stuff like Hebrews lived in the Americas and that jesus wasn’t born from a virgin mother is clearly not Christian. It is stupid and in most cases would be considered devil worship (pre 1800s)

A Christian also adheres to the Bible (any variation of it works) as a way to connect with Christ in some way. Mormons put Smith on a near god like pedestal quite close to Christ and thus diminished Christ in their ways. So no, the very diminishing of Jesus makes Mormons not Christian. At most they can consider themselves Christian’s in a cultural sense, but philosophically and theologically, nah.
