The anticipation of the Rainbow High dolls being recalled is honestly the only thinking making me interested in them because I honestly feel like they could end up infamous. Not Happy Family Midge levels of infamous, but maybe Skydancers infamous. At least Rollerblade Barbie (the one with sparking skates) infamous.

Also I'm so disappointed with the My Scene dolls, I've been wanting to add MS to my collection, but they're listed for way too much money, so I was hoping the new dolls would be just as good, but nope. They look like a kid born in 2010 tryna do a "Y2K" look based off of pinterest photos of fast fashion brands slapping labels on clothes, not actual 90s/00s styles and I'm so freaking disappointed 😭

Personally I like the resin kits, but they are FOR SURE not for kids. It's something you need gloves and goggles for, in a large well-ventilated space even with small measures, and cleanup isn't just soap and water. Happy to snipe these dolls for the cute molds though. Gimme.

Wicked was AMAZING. The bar was very low, but I'm so shocked with how well it was. Those three hours flew by, and although people are upset about it being in two parts, it could have never been one in one. I saw it almost a week ago and can't stop thinking about it.

Pullip dolls are my most expensive dolls and unfortunately the company that produces them has really slowed in the last year. I am pretty satisfied with my collection and while very expensive they are beyond stunning and I treasure them. In terms of getting the most value out of a doll relative to price, I think nothing will top rainbow high/shadow high at their height. The quality and detail of those dolls for being a play line on regular shelves was insane. Those are the dolls that got me back into collecting ❤ crazy to think their golden age was a couple years ago now, miss that time!

The Dream Bestie Ken got an outfit with sleeves and full pants! That's a big leap for Mattel(the bar is in hell, I know)! I also completely agree with you on Odile. Barbie needs an entire wardrobe overhaul. I'm sad about the direction Rainbow High is taking. I think they just released too many things at once and just needed to pace themselves better. now everything new they release is a pass. I like this celebrity Bratz doll, but I would prefer that they do fun styled Bratz dolls that aren't associated with real people. I wish Jina Fire's body was all one color. She looks kinda Frankensteined instead. Or if they could have incorporated the two colors together better.

I am super tired of the shapeless t-shirt dresses and printed on stitching/details. I hope this "new" era will have the diversity that the last decade had, but the quality and style of the earlier decades. IMO the pink glam Fashionistas era is like the ugly stepsister to the much cuter/more pretty superstar era. Both are hyper feminine and pink in style, but Superstar had the charm. The princess era had such great fashions for the dolls, but Dreamtopia is full of molded on tops and has fewer details in the limited garments the dolls get. Mattel needs to give Barbie Princesses a bigger budget. There's only so much the designers can do when the shareholders/ceo tell them to design on a dime. From my understanding: Vintage > mod > malibu > superstar >Bob Mackie head mold 90's Princess era(Fashion Avenue starts in this era) > 2000's CEO headmold generation girl and My Scene> Fashion Avenue gets replaced by Fashion Fever > pink glam fashionistas(the makeup steadily gets more caked on and quality and style starts to decline) > progressive fashionistas(We get Millie during this time and more subdued makeup) and diversity, but with another dip in quality. I also am excited about Odile taking the throne from Millie, but I hope they give her lots of different makeup variants. Also, if they keep selling her with the same recycled unfashionable clothes, it doesn't matter who the new Barbie is, I won't be interested in buying many new dolls from Mattel.

The original line of My Scene dolls came with literally a tube top and a mini skirt as the second "outfit". Mattel couldn't even include two bitty scraps of fabric, just to maintain the "two outfit minimum" standard of the originals. It's just unacceptable and ridiculous. Nothing they have ever done, up until this point, has disappointed me like this My Scene collector line.

i love the draculaura scooter! i don't think there is a need for bangs, i can only imagine how messed up they would be after a drive anyway (or with a helmet on). justice for big foreheads!!

Hey, glad you liked Wicked. I absolutely loved it. I've seen it twice and it gets better every time. Not sure what all the hate is about but I found it to be an engaging and delightful musical and I normally don't like musicals all that much. I have always sympathized with the Wicked Witch character and Cynthia Erivo was perfect in the role. I was also really impressed with Ariana Grande as well. I can't wait for part 2 and I am going to be listening to the Wicked audiobook by Gregory Maguire soon. This is the book that started it all. I even got the Wicked Witch doll lol. Happy Holidays!

Trust me, those resin craft Rainbow High dolls are getting recalled if I ever see them anywhere. I'm a crafter / miniature artis who works with resin (mostly UV- resin because it's safer and faster, and yes, I have a respirator but I'm also much, much older and over my reproductive age and don't have any males - who can't ever be - near me *waves an ace flag* so I simply don't care if I get a few burns when I mess up with my gloves). I'm fine with the craft balls because the resin is the main gimmick and it's basically one the parents to know what they buy to their kids - they are also labelled over the age of 8-yrs. They should come with a UV lamp tho. But the dolls, parents will buy them to a three year old and let them make a mess with everything inside and then go ham at the nurses in the ER when his skin is peeling off and he is sh*tting blood. Sorry to be grass and I'm preaching to the choir here, but hopefully a parent or a doll designer also sees this.
