This is the first window where teams will be dropping out of Europe with a few days to go. Considering Spurs are not playing UCL and nowhere guaranteed it next season, that is a tricky sell to a significant amount of clubs and players. The experienced group of possible transfers willing to move isn’t as big as it could be. Even if you take Bologna as an example, there’s a couple of interesting players there but they still have some hope and then whatever they would like to do in Serie A. Also despite what looks like desperate need, injuries also mean that players in some positions don’t necessarily see starting XI spots beyond this period. Ange would have been aware of the limitations of the wage structure and further ambition relies on changes there. That along with the points above means that the strategy in signings ends up being naturally younger and building a team that way rather than replacing Lo Celso etc with similar experience. And that is without factoring in how little we could get back from those departing. That all should give Ange more time and especially given injuries. He has set so many parts in motion that will see benefits down the line. Finally let’s be honest about the state of play and it’s the boring ones that people don’t want to acknowledge too often. If injuries don’t hit in the same way and/or we play UCL, then most of the other things align and the EPL season and transfers play out differently.

since 23/24 season Vdv 40 games missed , Romero 32 games missed basically a whole season by both, that's why we are so bad. Need defenders who are available and not injury prone.

Hi guys just looked at fixture list 6 games in around 16 days 2 epl 2 Europa Liverpool cup game and fa cup starting Jan last game of 6 on 10 feb . We are missing over half a squad Is it even possible we could see even more kids from the youth team actually on the field not just the bench.

I'm afraid Ange is a dead man walking. It's clear that the board has lost faith in him, it doesn't seem like they are going to back him, I'm not going to lie... results have been terrible. Haven't won in the league for 2 months. If we don't win vs. Leicester, he'll be gone. It's a shame as I do like him. But Sunday was unacceptable. I understand he has lost a lot of players. But it's a results business and if this poor form isn't nipped in the bud sooner rather than later, by him or the board.. We'll be in a relegation scrap!

Totally agree with Rob, Son doesn’t deserve a start in the team. Nor does Maddison really to be brutally honest. If Moore is capable of saving Ange’s job, Son at the moment is capable of getting him the sack. Ange is being ultra careful with players coming back from injury, that’s why Richy & Mikey got few minutes at Everton. I thought it was brave & disciplined of Ange considering the scoreline. Don’t understand why we don’t just bring Solomon, Phillips and Veliz back to bolster the squad. Injuries have decimated us but Ange’s arrogance and not rotating earlier in the season has put this project to a halt

Do you not think we are missing decent CDM who is physical , actual tackles and retrieves the ball. No players like Dembele , Wanyama, Hojbjerg etc. The team is unbalanced.

Biggest issue from the game was not the 3 at the back, although I thought it was a move, it was not reacting to the blindingly obvious. It was clear after 15 minutes we were all over the place, why the hell did he not change to a 4 stick Gray in midfield. Waiting till HT when we are 3 (and could have been more) down was frankly incompetent. A coaches job is to win games and react to what you see!

I don’t like, Ali, that you’re making emphasis on Ange needing help, because as the situation is the argument turn divisive. What I think frames the situation with more perspective is that for the last few years the squad has needed help, Tottenham has needed strategic squad renovation since god knows when, and it’s hasn’t been there. I don’t know if it’s a situation of poor planning, poor scouting, halfheartedness or pure greed, but we’re not keeping a consistently competitive squad on payroll for the alleged ambitions of the club (another whole wormhole). Unfair on Madders. He was the one who created the first goal, offered himself, made a good run, saved the ball, and made a good pass to Moore. Many would do something stupid in that situation. Seems like he has to score or assist in every game to not be criticized. Maybe he doesn't always shine but with him on the pitch at least we have some control on the ball (1st half doesn't count cause he played a different role)

There is more than one experienced football fitness expert/person that says a lot of Spurs injuries are likely down to how Ange trains and how he makes his players play. Disregarding whether Ange is good enough to succeed in the premiership , is it really worth the risk this accusation might mean however many Ange gets in his squad there will always be an excessive amount of players out injured.

Anyone involved in coaching will tell you, the more players out, the less well your team can compete. That’s the only narrative of substance at the moment. The rest is just nonsense. Context does matter.

How Ange laughed in August when he was asked about squad depth and registration rules. He’s not laughing now. Levy and Lange might be more culpable but he clearly didn’t understand what this season would be like where the fans and journalists did. He’s clearly not being helped this window either. There’s surely no doubt one of Kulu Gray Porro will also be injured in the next week or 2. Surely Porro can’t play Leicester and Spence/Reguilon start if they insist on not buying anyone. Gray playing midfield seemed so obvious it seems like he was throwing the game. At this point they’d be better off crowd sourcing the team than letting Postecoglou do it.
