The bracket at 16:45 does need to be unbolted from the engine bay.
@griffzillagarage14 сағат бұрын
@@mattbaysinger2316 that’s what I initially thought, and then after I removed it, I realized (or was under the impression) it wasn’t necessary; at least that’s the way I remember it and that’s why I put that text in the video. I also think that’s why I didn’t show how to unbolt it from the other side was because I didn’t feel it was necessary. looking back I remember I had a hell of a time trying to figure out what was holding it up and then I removed the bolt. If I was to do it again I think that it’s possible to just loosen it up from the Engine side, but not totally remove it to give the wiggle room needed to remove the dash support. Thanks for pointing that out as I’m sure it will help others in the future. Thanks for watching and I would appreciate if you would subscribe and help me grow the channel by sharing it.

I want to replace my belt tensioner and the CR pump belt. The instructions show that the tooth with the green dot should be in the same position. However, when I turn it, the belt tightens and then loosens. Is it possible that I installed it incorrectly and broke the tensioner? Is it enough to install it in the position shown in the video/instructions, turn it to one o'clock and then to three o'clock, then the dots will match?

@@marcelmartyna3833 when I originally did it, I tried to turn to 1 o’clock and it put too much stress on the tensioner and it felt like it was going to pop and loosen up. Have you diagnose which timing gear is the one rattling?

@griffzillagarage Thank you so much for the reply, I have. Canadian built 2010 RAV4 2.5L, I only have the Rattle when I cold start after sh has say for like 8 hours usually. Just unsure how to diagnose which gear is bad . I appreciate your videos 🙏
@griffzillagarageАй бұрын
@@Emmettaug that’s what I’m trying to tell you dude. it can only be the one that is VVT. Do you know what VVT is? The cold start rattle is a telltale sign that the VVT gear is bad. I diagnosed it based on experience, knowing that a solid sprocket that has no moving parts cannot rattle. Only the VVT sprocket that has moving parts built into it has the ability to rattle. That’s how I diagnose it. I think to myself which one of these has the ability to rattle? Oh, it must be the one that is VVT and has moving parts. You see, one of the sprockets is solid. It’s just a basic looking gear/sprocket, the other one is going to be a big fat chunkier style. That’s your VVT gear/sprocket that’s the only one that has the ability to cause the rattle.
